For urban driving and if you’re doing lots of stopping and starting, hybrids are good. You could’ve done a motorway and see how that would affect economy.

I nearly bought a Yaris hybrid 2016 model, but the garage advertised it, I enquired and after 6 weeks still not heard from them so gave up chasing them, it's still advertised but still not ready, I ended up buying a Honda Jazz hybrid a few years older with less mileage, good enough for me

This is very interesting and actually a good idea that most should use. I have a zafira tourer 1.6cdti sri. Done 53000 miles, so its had alot of tests. Ill do a video soon on different situations on lower and higher speeds. Although i love its size, etc, its main killer on mpg is the traffic. I know this is obvious, but as its carrying a heavy car, it can suffer after getting higher mpg. As example, i drive carefully and through back roads in country with no real traffic for 6.1 miles, i got 52.9mpg. Without resetting and doing return journey, i come across quite a bit of traffic through lanes. By time i returned home, it was 43mpg. So 12.2 miles covered. I actually left my mpg counter over 6000 miles of very careful driving. Mixed but prob more urban and returned 42mpg overall. On motorway with a couple jams and mainly 50-70 over 200 miles was 49mpg.

I’ve had over 90 mpg on urban trips in this car, not so good long distance, it drops to 60 for that. You need to drive it slightly differently to get a better result.

I know this is a bit of an old video but a couple of things I want to point out he was not keeping up with traffic during acceleration only when coming to a stop and the car might have set off with a fully charged battery. I have one same shape but facelift version and I get between 45-50 mpg on a 5 mile urban run and 58-62 on an Extra urban 15-20 mile run. But don't forget it's automatic and you cannot compare the fuel economy of an automatic with that of a manual. Only automatic to automatic.

E-cvt, not the same as a plain CVT transmission.
