As a non-tech startup founder, I want to share two invaluable tips I received from successful tech founders in my network. While preparing to build my app in 2025, I reached out to two friends for advice - an App Developer and a Venture Capitalist specialising in tech. I explained that I was ready to seek funding since I had developed my concept, but they both strongly advised me to complete two crucial steps before starting that journey. This video summarises their insights, which I hope will help other first-time founders out there.

First-time entrepreneurs often dive into app development with great ideas but limited technical knowledge, leading to costly mistakes and wasted time. Many non-tech founders rush to build their startup apps without validating their market or understanding the technical requirements, resulting in expensive pivots later. The journey becomes even more challenging when searching for a technical co-founder or navigating relationships with development agencies. Unlike tech founders who can prototype their ideas quickly, non-technical entrepreneurs must bridge the knowledge gap while managing limited resources. Successful startup founders learn to validate their ideas before investing heavily in app development, often through no-code tools or minimal viable products that test their core assumptions.
