Feedback from Comments and the Community:

Open World Deviants -
From what we can tell, for open world deviants, there are a few conditions to make them spawn. Basically most of the feedback is that they do respawn every 30 min, however you have to be a minimum distance away from them to trigger their spawn. We do not have a definitive distance, but most think +20meters or more away. An easy way to trigger this is to either walk away or go in and out of eternal land.

For the open world deviants, my clan does the eternal land method. However, we found out something important. It seems that the deviants have an area check before respawn. When entering eternal land waiting 30 seconds and returning, if you are the only person in an area bubble around the spawn, it has a chance to spawn. If there are other people in the area it will not spawn. We were able to farm 20 butterflies really quickly, like less than an hour... But when other people were in the area killing mobs it never did respawn. We had to switch worlds and continue with no one else around. Highest butterfly is 4/3 still no shiny. Can absolutely confirm that it in NOT time spawn restricted. Have caught them back to back many times 30 secconds apart.

My experience farming for each shiny:

Cats: I've managed to capture around 100 cats using the same method that the video describes. Of the 100 cats about 7 were shinies. 6 of the 7 were the black "tuxedo" cats with the optimistic trait. The last was a black siamese looking cat with the moon diamond trait. A clan member did the same and managed some tuxedo cats and one orange tabby.

Mushrooms: I've collected around 2k mushrooms and I've gotten about a dozen mushroom men. Only one was a shiny with the fly agaric skin. A clan member managed the purple mushroom.

Bunnies: I cut down 70k wood from the two big trees. I've only gotten six bunnies, no shinies. In my experience with the tree, I can get up to two deviants within the first 4-8 tree fellings. After that I will get nothing until enough time passes seemingly. This could be coincidental, but I tried farming the bunny three times, and all three times I got two in the first 20 minutes of logging, and nothing afterwards until I took a break for several hours.

Digbys: I've gotten about 4k silver, 3k gold, and 6.5k startrace. I've only ever gotten digbys from the silver ore, none shiny. I heard rumors about the gold digby coming from gold ore and the prismatic digby coming from startrace ore, but I've had zero luck.

Butterflies: I've tried multiple worlds and the eternaland "hack", but I've never even been able to see one.

Gel: I did the ravenous hunter dungeon about 30 times and on the last time I got a blue gel. One other clan member also got the blue gel recently on additional attempts. No one has managed a pink gel.

With all of that being said, I can say with certainty, after literally spending about 36 hours grinding these shinies the past three days, they aren't worth farming. The fact I have "no-lifed" this game for the last three days and only managed a small number of shinies speaks volumes about the RNG. I can't tell if the code has a conditional statement that wraps around the RNG or not, but regardless, the chance of getting the shinies (or even just normal digbys especially) is so low that farming them really doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

P.S. Buzzy Bee must not be in the new PVE hard mode server.

P.S.S. (Three days later) --
A number of people are reporting what I have already said about the bunnies, digbys, etc. That apparently deviants are timegated, and like storage crates, only appear 2-3 times every 4 hours. I'm assuming this must only apply to harvestable deviants.

I have personally run the mushroom cave up to 700 shrooms total. I have received 4 growshrooms. no variants. I have notice after receiving 1 or 2 in the first few runs, I couldn't get 3 no matter how long I stayed and farmed. Btw im so glad you made this video. i have been waiting for something like this for a min. SUBBED

Besides the points you make for deviants, to consider the fact that you would put that much time into something that you would have to pay for to keep next season. I would think there are far more important things to pay for. Cali's, Mods, or even crystals for gear and weapons. I believe the deviant that matter most are just crafting ones. I use the weaver for almost all my solo runs. Comes in handy in so many ways. The life armor could be cool but feels like it doesn't work half the time. Weaver is king!

"Calibrating" deviants sounds like a great idea. Anything that adds worthwhile content is a good thing. Thanks for your testing!

With regard the respawn rates:
I have noticed if you stand next to a node eg iron it will not respawn but if you move say 20 meters away and wait it does respawn.
Taking this into account, it would be logical to asume the same for Deviants.

I think the "Are they worth it" section towards the end of the video 11:59 is solid reasoning. 👍

For deviants to respawn in the open world, all players must leave the respawn zone. When all players leave the zone, it will deload and update randomly. But not all deviants have a 100% chance of spawning, like the cat. To quickly leave the area, you can exit to the main menu and wait about a minute. Also, you cannot guarantee that there is no spy in the bushes who does not allow you to update the area.

I think the crafting deviant traits is a very interesting idea and would make the deviants more special because you can customize your favorite ones to suit your play style and everyones deviants would be unique.

My hope is with the upcoming Deviation Enhancement system they are considering, I can get the Variant now and then enhance it later so I won't feel forced to use my 5/1 normal Devation over a 1/1 Variant.

To respawn the deviants you have to leave the room whether physically or by logging off

I did a full 10 worlds run of the other butterfly spot, the abandoned monolith in western Chalk Peak and got 4 normal butterflies. I tried your spot once and got the Starry Night deviation of the butterfly!!! Thanks for the info! It looks like the painting starry night was folded up into a butterly and you can see Vincent's signature on one of his wings. He's a 1/1 and buffs dmg by 6% at night and half that by day just by being inside the backpack. ❤❤

Regarding the respawns, you can test this with Bald Cypress Trees, If you stay nearby it won't respawn, the moment i cut down a tree and Relog taking about 20 seconds orso it respawns instantly

Nothing in OH will respawn except enemies if you are within 150m of the node point. Trees are less (about 50m) and respawn in groups, but they still require you to be X distance from the node.
I have found that the chance of getting some of the more rare deviants (not shiny, just with a low drop rate) are higher when checking them on the same schedule as chests respawn.
This E-Land tricks sounds really good IF it works.
IF, it takes 100 runs to get a shiny then it might use the same spawn rules as the lethal rabbit.

I like your solution options, or use a combine system where you can feed other of teh same typew into a devi and level it up

The cords listed for the butterfly is off by a lake, 4143.68, -6290.72 is the cords of the building. Gaia Research Center Ruins is the area for people that don't want cords.

While farming bumble bees, I utilized the Eternal Land method and frequently switched worlds. If I didn’t spot a bumble bee, I would continue switching worlds until one appeared. When I encountered a bumble bee, I would switch to the Eternal Land method, which resulted in the bee respawning about 8 out of 10 times.

I heard in a future patch you will be able to upgrade your deviants using other deviants. You will be able to make your shinies even shinier.

Ok i am going to help you a little here, myself and several friends have now figured all deviants that gather materials are limited numbers per person or world, we have worked out that it is 2 per person per 4 hour reset, so digby, fetch-a-lot and mushroom, they also spawn after town/chest reset which is every 4 hours!
