In this video I am explaining my results and experience with alternate day fasting. I fasted 39 hours and then the next day had a regular eat day where I closed the eating window off after my dinner. I resumed the same goal of a 36 hour fast the following day.

Currently on a 36hr. Trying to heal my metabolism and reverse insulin resistance.
Weight loss not my focus, just a bonus. I love my fasting days, I do one or 2 36 to 48 hr fasts a week. It's liberating. The silence in the head is the ultimate plus!

I am currently doing a cycle of adf as well, and I think you hit the nail on the head, talking about the quiet that comes during a fast. I am definitely a recovering food addict and the quiet helps me to stop hyper focusing on food! It's nice to see someone fighting the good fight too. It's not easy to change your life. I really appreciate your vulnerability.

I’m so glad my life is uncomplicated. I do IF every day. Carnivore. At 64 I have no pain healed GI issues and asthma. 3 sizes down. And I save money not buying garbage.

I definitely applaud you on doing this this type of fasting! I'm on day 3 of intermittent fasting and today I noticed a victory on the scale. You don't know how much you eat due to boredom until you start a diet like this.

O Jess, Thank you for posting this. I was with you in 2020. Followed the same path and now determent to pick up where I lost it 1, 5 year ago. Took a 4 days holliday to pull my self together and tune into what ever will help me. Great to see you again talking about your experiences!!

I am with you on the fasting. My reason for doing this is to heal my Insulin Resistance! I've been Keto over a year now and I'm still not healed from this I.R. All the doctors tell me that I need to fast to heal this disease. I get lazy though. And I love to eat, chew. So I need to be more disciplined to stick to it every week at least a couple times per week making it 36 hours or more or the ADF. Let's support one another in these efforts. Good job, Jess!

Currently at 32 hrs water fast. I feel great. I had some trouble falling asleep because I felt so energetic. I weight myself this morning and I lost 4lbs.

Great video! I have been doing OMAD and AD fasting. For 2 months now or maybe just over. I drink water only fasting or not. For my one meal. I keep it strict Keto. With all that said, it has honestly changed my life. It has changed my outlook on food in general. I eat because I need to not because I want to. Who says we are supposed to eat 3 meals a day or eat everyday 🤔.

Hi Jess, i LOVE alternate day fasting. It is such an amazing boost while losing weight. When you did it constantly you sure build a dicipline and habit. Eating everday and making right choices can be hard sometimes. But eating every other day gives you a responsibility, you don't want to throw away what you just accomplished. Definitely reccommented
I find it easier to do just water fast. Adding herbal teas or coffee makes me hungry.

You hit it right on the head! When you said that when you're fasting you can't turn to food, you must turn to something else so you don't break your fast. When you're eating keto or just eating clean, there is an excuse you give yourself to eat junk, to turn to food instead of the "something else", like when you are fasting. That's your key Jess! I'm so excited for you! Now that you know and recognize what's been happening you can get your weight down and keep it down! I hope I find my key, I keep riding the roller coaster !

I am doing adf right now. It seems once I get to the 25 hour mark I no longer have hunger pangs. And many times I feel like continuing the fast at the 36 hour mark. I use decaf coffee to help me get thru those hunger times. I have heard taking a little salt helps with that problem, too. The flavored LMNT does not make my glucose go up. Tomorrow I am going to begin a 72 hour sardine fast. I heard sardines help increase the ketones. So I thought I would try it out.

Thank you Jess for the inspiration. I need to keep working toward IF that works for me. I can’t budge the scale. I’m lifting weights and cardio 2-3 days a week. Feeling discouraged. But motivated to make improvements.
