I adopted a rescue. I've had her for 2 months and she's an angel. My last dog was out of his mind till his last days. I miss him dearly of course but my Newfoundland is a very calm and pleasant change in dog ownership in comparison. There nothing like them. My new favorite breed 100%

Everything you said is true. But Newfies are absolutely wonderful. I have never seen a happier or more loving dog than a Newfoundland.

Guess you are unaware that both the Golden and Labrador Retrievers came into being because of the Newfoundland Dog. In fact, the Labrador (which has no connection to Labrador), was known for the first 100 years or so after its creation as The Lessor Newfoundland.

Back in the day, here in Newfoundland (and it's Newf-In-Land, rhymes with "understand", never Newf-in-Lund or Newf-in-Lind), their fur was combed, carded and spun into "wool". The wool was used to knit warm clothing.
