Why does everyone play first position different. I learned to play it on the a string on the third fret and then I play it open position. I’m so confused

Not according to the book I have; my book (Gig Bag Series Scales by Joe Dineen & Mark Bridges) show that this scale in this video is actually parts of the C scale from BOTH positions one AND two.

This is a Russian bot. C major starts on C. NOT g#. Stop using books and listen to sounds. If this is not working, perhaps refer to the tuner.
