How to Play a C Major Scale | Bass Guitar

Must Haves for any Guitar Player:

The C Major scale is going to be all the notes without any sharp or flat notes, just the basic note names. C is the third fret on the A string. You play the open D one string away. You play E second fret on the D string. F is the third fret on the D string. Open G. A is the second fret on the G. B is 4th fret, and that brings us back to C, 5th fret. And that's a C major scale on the bass guitar.

On screen notes helped but it's currently too early for me to wrap my head around that open string pattern. Having already learned the 2–4, 1–2–4, 1–3–4 pattern

why not play the D and G on the 5th frets though?

Instead of playing open notes, practice using your pinky to reach those notes and then you can translate that pattern to any major scale

There are 5 strings on that bass. Come on, you know most of us are using a 4 string.
