Apple’s M1 system-on-chip seems to be making its way into all of their products, and perhaps most excitingly it’s made it into the 2021 iPad Pro. That officially puts the new iPads Pro on par with the latest MacBook Air, Pro, and iMac in terms of computing power, and that’s not even the most exciting upgrade! The 12.9-inch iPad Pro now has a fancy new display technology called mini-LED, which is what we’ll be dissecting in this video.

Omg that part where the screen is transparent is so satisfying to me

This has to be one of the best visual explanations of the mini LED technology.

Very cool demo... But should have shown a little more footage of the actual display and the backlit panel separately with content moving on the screen...

I'm loving these local LED displays. They could look almost as good as amoled while having fewer burn in issues

mini-LED:

☀️ Higher contrast ratio
🔆 Higher brightness
🌑 Deeper blacks
🔋 Power-efficient
💣 Less prone to burn-in than OLED
🛡️ Uses inorganic Gallium nitride (GaN), won’t degrade over time like OLED

Fantastic video! Love the demonstration of how mini LED works! Probably your best teardown yet!

The fact that they named it "Mini-LED" is that there is a "Micro-LED" version coming out soon in the future with lot more leds for a much more better display.

Dude, you just said there are 2500+ squares with 4leds in each. You don't have to count, just do the math!

The new xdr display is jaw dropping when watching hdr content. It was able to beat even my oled tv.

2.5k dimming zones still has blooming.. could have been 5.5million zones if it was an oled since its pixel oled still has benifits such as instant response time and slightly better viewing angles then ips... also even with the local dimming and dual lcd layer (monochrome), its still an ips panel so the poor native contrast ratio will show up in certain instances...
