From the teardown I realise it was clearly a necessity that they had to remove the jack port. Otherwise they couldn't have put all this empty space inside...

I love how this ipad is more expensive than the old one and lacks the headphone jack when with all that free space inside you could fit two sims, two microsd cards, a headphone jack with spdif, fm radio and a cfexpress reader

Judging from the bend test, I can clearly see that Apple finally started to innovate and made it's first foldable iPad. Good job, Apple!

Apple practically considers every paintjob on an iPad as a "new model" at this point.

The "iPad" (without, Air, Pro, or mini) is the school model. The air gap between the digitizer and the LCD is because most students break the digitizer only so it keeps repair costs way down. We pay ~$30 per digitizer replacement. This saves us a bunch as we repair a few 100 a week for repair. 45, 000 iPads cost at lot, not just to buy but to maintain.

Schools are also why the iPad 9th generation is still on sale, we have a fleet of 8th generation models and want to continue to buy the 9th generation as long as possible.

Apple using Type-C was a big surprise to me. I remember when Apple first introduced Lightning with the iPhone 5 and I thought oh cool Apple has created a cable that can be plugged in either way so there's no chance of sticking it in upside down. And then they made it proprietary and nobody else could use it.

I was so shocked to see that much empty space inside this thing. It's just so counter to what we are used to seeing inside phones/ tablets.
