One thing that I started doing that has really made a great improvement is to have a calendar right next to the fridge and specifically use it to write the expiration date of your short-lived foods. It's great for inspiration when figuring out what to cook, especially if you see that milk or bread is about to expire. And it helps me make sure that I am not wasting food, because many times I find that when I want to eat or use something it has already expired.

Yes! Thank you, I needed this! Please more videos like this one! Also, I would love to see a video on family dinners that include a picky toddler! My two-year-old is texture driven and I am always worried he isn't getting enough nutrients!

I am not a mom but this will be a great way to organize meal time. My mom doesn't really have hard time on cooking, but these tips are pros!
This video is awesome, Meg! Keep up the great work!

I find it really helpful to dedicate an area to items that need to be used first. That helps me remember to actually do so. Anything in the fridge that needs to be used first I'll put towards the front so I see it first and therefore grab it first and as for our produce basket on the counter, the further to the left an item is, the sooner it needs to be used. This system keeps things so much more functional and has greatly helped me cut down on food waste ever since I implemented this

This was exactly what I needed! This does not only help families, but also college students like me who spend way too much money eating out. And even when I do cook, I always have half-eaten ingredients in the fridge that I will later forget about. These tips have inspired me a lot, and Meg you have done an amazing job! xo

my mom started writing menue lists with me and my sister when i was a toddler. She asked me what i would like to eat and then wrote it down for a whole week (of course she helped us to and teached us to be variantly and that it´s healthy to eat vegetables, fish and not everyday pasta...). We changed the menue lists every week so every member of the family had one week to decide what to eat. We always wrote that list on sunday because on that day everybody was at home and had time and so my parents had enough time to plan when to go to the supermarket. For my mother it was easier to plan and we kids loved being involved in deciding what to eat and there were less dispute. I´m 22 now and i´m not living with my parents but we still do that and everytime i come visiting my parents it´s my week to decide what to eat :) i´m sorry if there are any mistakes in my text ... i´m from germany but i love watching your videos and i thought this advice might help somebody :D

I love your idea. You have a great entrepreneurial skill whereby you took your challenge/problem as an opportunity to make the lives of other stay at home moms easier.

I also love that you get everyone involved in their food intake because as the children grow and your husband is aware of what you're doing, they'll understand that taking care of their bodies and watching their food intake is a personal responsibility.
