This is my response to Jays video on how they should save Eli and the crew aboard Destiny. I hope you enjoy this little fan fiction.

I did not expect to get emotional by that last line. You did a bang up job on this man. This would be a great episode of a new Stargate show.

At first I was merely curious about where you were going with this, but not even 1 minute in I was completely hooked... I definitely wasn't expecting to be so much captivated by both your plot and your narration, time totally flew by me, amazing work there!

This plot is a really interesting concept, that'd be a great way to get back to Destiny and its crew.

Perfect. As long as Rush gets to continue with the mission I'm happy.
But that reminds me - isn't there at least one person/consciousness in Destinys core already? I guess he'll have company apart from the Ancient meat-popsicles in the basement.
(the consciousness-storing was one of the things about Destiny I loved and really wanted them to expand on in the show)

If only we could have had a Season 3 to wrap things up, I love this proposed wrap up, even if there's still some small cliffhanger with what becomes of Dr Rush. I hope the executives of SyFy burn forever in the hottest and deepest pits of hell for pulling the plug on this show when they did... 😔

The simplest solution would be the one the show presented in the last episode. Eli alone looked out on the streams of light coming towards the ship, ( He finally had a moment to think about what it was, it was light, if he dropped the light collectors that light would be enough to keep the life support running for himself. ) He smiles, but then frowns realizing he's going to have to spend the next years alone.
During the years alone he would fix and repair and learn things about the ship, they could start out the show back up again by having the pov of whichever actor still looks the most like their character be the last one woken up from stasis. That would solve the problem of some actors looking different, they'd have been awake longer.

I think another good story could be that a different SG-Team accidentialy finds a signal of a second Destiny. The try to enter it. They start to explore the ship and think its the Destiny. Only to find out its a sister-ship in a completely diffrerent area of the universe but in better condition. During the exploration of that ship they discover a deck that was curently unknown to exist on these ships. There is a map of all places (galaxys, solarsystem, planets) the Destiny and her sisters visits AND a visible marker of all these ships and theire planed routes.

With the knowlege out of this database they can create a route across several gate-networks along the route of the Destiny. Maybe some kind of inter-gate-network-connection is vissble in the database. like special gates at the outer ends of a network that have the ability to connect to the nearest gate of the next network. They would send a big Team to travel from Gate to Gate reach these gates, maybe need to fight for acces or do some dr. jackson magic quizz to make them work. All the special gates must be keept a secret to make sure nothing evil finds back to earth.

then they catch up near the destiny and contact Eli. tell him the news and create a permanent "gate-route-connection" to Destiny.

This could be tha basis for a whole series btw... =D all the potential... Thank me later Amazon.

EDIT: and yes. they could start these missions to the other "destinys" to find ancients OR to reach out to one of these ships building and placing the gates!!!

Would have been good if the crew of the new ship repaired Destiny before heading back to earth. At least that'll give the ancients chance to get to the signal and rush could have stayed frozen too. I'd have through the ancients would have been too old to even wake up from their pods unless time on Destiny in FTL while frozen isn't as long a time as we've seen on Atlantis/Aurora.

That's fantastic! I love it... Great story and quite a fulfilling resolution to that story arc.
Although I will always want to know what Brad Wright had planned for the rest of the series.

We certainly need a conclusion to SGU, but when the series was cancelled they had just gotten to the point where they could really begin to tell some amazing stories; probably some of the best of the franchise! And I'm still upset that we're never going to get that!

I had been holding out some glimmer of hope until I recently heard that Brad Wright has been scrapped from continuing to work on stargate, and that is MOST extremely disappointing & upsetting!

I will still watch at least the beginning of any new stargate that comes out, but they are going to have a hard time winning me over without him...

Although, I'm pretty sure that with all that time on his hands Eli would have figured out some way to interact with Gyn!
And I know there's no way he would just leave her in Destiny's memory banks! ...

Nice, with a wormhole drive, the stargate program is going to get into a lot of trouble. I give this a big thumbs up, sorry Jay but I like Matt's version better.They would have to do some explaining how they made the wormhole drive and I would expect it came from Atlantis. Next question, if Stargate can make a wormhole drive; why didn't the ancients do that before ascending? I'm guessing they forgot about Destiny?

I like it, but I think Rush instead waking up one of the Crew after everyone else leaves. Kinda of an open ended Clifhanger/end of story. Allows for future stories to be made as well as a finally for Rush's story, finally meeting ancients.

Too add - the bc306 drops off another crew. To replace those going home. But with it supplies etc for another 5 years.
