I love this because it also meant that she understood that the soldier standing in front of her when Eli visits isn't the solider, but is truly her son, in that body. She didn't believe it, up until this. So not only did she get to see Destiny, see Eli, and see the other galaxy, she also got hope that her son would visit her again.

I am grateful his Mother was proud of Eli. Eli was destined to be on Destiny to explore the Universe and help others this is his destiny.

This scene chokes me up every time. But as glorious and emotionally satisfying as it is, it's still bittersweet. This isn't just Eli giving his mom a tour of his dream job. It's a brutal existence that is often terrifying and perilous. Which makes Eli even more of an unlikely badass. He has been through so much yet is somehow thriving. The pride that his mother has for him is unimaginable.

It’s sad that Eli couldn’t get her to believe his story on his own while in another person’s body and that she downright refused to believe him even after all the proof he had of their memories. This was the only way to make her believe him. By bringing her to the ship.

Two little things to note.

What happened to the audio there guys?? It's a little wonky. lol

And second; I think one of the reasons this show didn't get the ratings as much as they had wanted was due to the drastic change in tone from the previous shows. This show went deep into serious characters' emotional journeys and their interpersonal relationships. It was great to see, I personally like the show's different approach, but I guess I was a minority, because it didn't get past season 2. Something tells me though, that season 3 would have been EPIC AF. Eli all alone for years looking after the crew in stasis and trying to find a way home; alone??? There would be room for so much potential
