Evenora turning into an old lady reminded me of how Mother Gothel died in Tangled.

"Don't need 'em. Bubbles are just for show, " is such a great line. It explains why Glinda has so much faith in Oscar. She's a stage performer just like he is, and the Good Witch of the North persona is the character she puts on for the crowds. The dialogue even slips in casual slang - " 'em " - to make certain you notice that Glinda is getting real.

And then she would later get crushed by Dorothy's house🤣

"You can't give me that. You took what mattered most to me."
These two lines described each character perfectly. I love how Glinda knows there's no magic that can bring back the dead.

I know it was brief, but imo this is one of the most badass magic fight scenes I’ve ever seen. The way the lightning sounded so powerful. The way neither of them were angry, just focused. I really enjoy this scene!

Fun Fact: Glinda portrayed in this version is a combination of all three Glinda's from the movie/play/book: 1939's film characteristic of traveling by bubble, Broadway's Wicked musical with having golden blonde hair & Baum's original book of wearing all white gowns adorned in solid gold and remaining the Witch of the South.

That booming sound when the green lightning hits against Glinda’s magic ward was insane in IMAX. Rattled the whole theater, I still remember it being one of the coolest things about the movie.

the fact that Evanora tries to crush Glinda by felling a chunk of the ceiling just proves that her power is inferior. She knows she's not strong enough so she resorts to fighting dirty.

Ugh, I wanted a sequel just for the two wicked witches in their castle in the dark forest. This version of the wicked witch of the east had me so hyped. It would’ve been terrifying

This scene is so EPIC. With the best line ever, "Bubble are just for show", along with "Much to learn you still have". Love.

You know what, despite all the negativity, I quite enjoyed this movie purely on its own. If you don't take it as Wizard of Oz canon and just enjoy it as a Hollywood creation, I think you can get away with it -- I did, and I'm the biggest Oz fan out there 😊

As someone who grew up loving the film versions of Mombi and the Wicked Witch of the West, Rachel Weisz's Evanora was so satisfying! Her performance and character stands right up there will those other iconic Oz witches.
