Mine in mountain biomes at y 232 for the most iron or y 16 underground or you could just look in caves the ones closest to y 16 will have the most iron

For bedrock it is 16 however java is 15

Why would you waste time mining iron ?💀
Usually it can be easily found in caves
Or maybe if you want too much iron then just build an iron farm instead of minning like that
