How to UNLOCK PS5 1440p 120Hz Support | The Update Everyone Wanted

Learn how to enable 1440p support on your PS5 and unlock 120Hz. The latest PS5 update released in September 2022 now adds 1440p support for all PS5 users globally.

In this video, we dive into how to check if your display supports 1440p in both SDR and HDR modes as well as 60Hz and 120Hz. By using the new "Test 1440p Output" option, you will be able to unlock 1440p support.

You'll also find out when and how the PS5 will unlock 120Hz so those games that support 120FPS are playable at that framerate.

Support for native 1440p displays over HDMI 2.0 is available while also unlocking 120Hz. You don't need to have an HDMI 2.1 display and cable anymore so you can save space and money using your existing display.

So those wanting to play at a high refresh rate of 120FPS also get the benefit of superior image quality at 1440p on the PS5 since the PS5 will downscale or downsample the 4k image.

The monitor I use in this video is the Dell 27 Gaming Monitor - S2721DGF.
