Push Starting a Truck with Dead Battery (Manual)

My truck battery had lost too much power to start, so I pushed it and popped the clutch.

I fell asleep in my truck on the side of the road, woke up at 3 am with a flat battery, I had to do exactly this except I was in a parallel parking spot with a car both in front and behind 😂 so trying to rock it back and forth turning the steering wheel a few cm each time until I cleared the car infront and then nothing but flat bitumen road also took me two goes to get her cranking 😂 great video mate

Great work! I recently faced this problem and every tutorial I saw said you need someone to push. I thought maybe there's a reason for that and it can't be done alone. Walked a mile to get someone xD Nice to see someone do it alone. Would definitely do the same the next time I am in such a situation.

you should probably use second or third instead of first. so you dont stall as easily

This is tricky to do in colder weather if you cant get a good amount of speed. I imagine doing it in reverse would be extremely difficult

You probably didn't need more speed - you needed to set your carburetor with a single push if it's electronic or multiple in order to get the accelerator pump squirting a little bit of fuel down the throat.

You should probably still trickle charge the battery the next chance you get.
