I have made a version of these but I brush the top bun with melted butter and sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning. It really gives it nice flavor.

Paula ive made a different version of this but Love the tip to separate them! they also freeze beautifully and then reheat nicely. thank you for all you do to brighten our day. Robin

I had forgotten about these delicious sandwiches!! Back about 6 years ago my nephew’s wife made these and invited us over to eat! Oh my goodness they were absolutely delicious!! After that I started making them. We had these probably about once every other week. Then I kind of forgot about them until now when I saw this video! Thank you Paula for bringing so many wonderful memories!! We will start eating these again!! I need to go to the store tomorrow anyway, so I’ll had this to my list of groceries!! Thanks again Paula!! I love these! I also made mine with pork loin, bbq sauce and swiss cheese. It was so delicious! They are great also for taking to homes for funerals, anniversary parties where you have single bites, and even birthday parties. Everytime it is a hit. Also, did a reuben style sandwich as well. FYI- Aldi's has a smaller size Hawaiian rolls that are alot less expensive.

What a great way to start the day with you Paula. I just love watching you. I am so glad I found you on youtube. I have a firestick and I had found you on one of my apps, and started watching you a few weeks ago, but on youtube I can comment. I just love you so much. I sure have missed you. You bring back so many precious memories of my mother and I watching you every Saturday morning. She used to try to be home from the store before you came on. Love you sweet lady.

When I make these...I put some horseradish in with my mayo. It gives it an extra tang. So good!

We make these with ham and swiss, a mix of mayo and dijon and everything bagel seasoning on top. Ugh so I just love your recipes, your way and especially the old time atmosphere of your home, with all the family and friends around. This was how it used to be with all of us around the kitchen with cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents... I hope someday to have a life like this again. This to me is what Heaven must be like. A kitchen full of family and a beautiful garden out back, enjoying all the seasons and bounty of life.

Have done this similar recipe for years but omit the mayo and combine softened butter, fresh minced garlic and poppyseeds and spread on the bread then the meat and cheese. Not so sure about the bacon though, adds flavor but toughness to a soft delicate sandwich. I do add a bit of worcestershire sauce to the spread.

I’ve never added bacon but I should try that! I make the ham and cheese ones or Italian ones with salami and pepperoni.

It's a shame no one would help her with that oven door--that dish could've ended up on the floor, and then they would've been sorry! Paula, if you're going to use that oven you need a counter next to it to set the dish on while you open/close the doors (and not a trash can). It could be one of those small rolling carts that they now make for kitchens.
