This is a great series, thanks Skylar and Agora! The reason the materials look too shiny by default in Unreal when all of the texture files are connected is because sRGB gamma correction is being applied to most of these images by default when they are imported into Unreal, which messes up the specific material values they are supposed to be controlling. To avoid this, before you add them to a material you can first open up each greyscale or black and white texture (roughness, metallic, AO, etc) and untick "sRGB" and save. Then when you bring them in to a material they will be using the correct grey values and the material should look correct. This step is only necessary for the greyscale images, sRGB should be on for the colour map in most cases, and Unreal usually recognises normal maps automatically and applies a setting to them that disables sRGB on them.

I'm unable to save the .mb file. It saying there's a third party plug-in that is preventing from saving?
EDIT: Nevermind I was trying to save the file as a binary instead of a ASCEII or whatever its abbreviated.

Does anyone know how I can import the Mjolnir into Unreal Engine 5? I have a mannequin rig and a Mjolnir rig that I want to import into Unreal, but I can't figure out how to do it. If anyone knows how, I would appreciate the help.

Hey uh... I know this is 2 years old but... I was really eager to start learning this, game animation and development is my dream. But my Laptop just can't handle Unreal. Do you have, or does anyone knows, a similar series but with Unity?

Hi do you have a tutorial for exporting character idle poses from unreal? I found one unreal link online but all I get is the T pose even though I used these steps > select the Animation Sequence, right click and create an Pose Asset. The pose comes in the T pose only. I need to export a couple of these idle, run, walk etc poses to use as a reference in Maya.

Getting weird deformations when i import the bones from the referenced maya file. WHen i use original maya file without referencing, i dont get the deformations. any tips on this?

One crucial missing step here is they forgot to mention to tell the viewers to use Game Ready" rigs else you will be in a lot of pain... LOL

Question. From my understanding, animating in Maya (or a software similar) and then porting it over to Unreal heavily complicates the workflow and essentially creates the need for technical artists.

Would it be viable to use Control Rig, (Perhaps motion tracking like Rokoko) and the animation tools within Unreal to work almost exclusively in the engine and thus streamline the workflow?
