I agree with Rhett. Coffee shop isn’t really a date. It’s a let see if we ACTUALLY want to go on a date. I’d even accept let’s hit a McDonald’s and chat for an hour. Park bench. I’m fine. 1st IRL meet up its preferred. Low stakes

Always low commitment for the first meetup. If it's awkward or it's awful, you don't want to be there for two hours with someone. Coffee can be 30 minutes and just have one, or more if it's going well! Go for a walk somewhere after, etc. I'm with Rhett.

I had a first date that was a coffee date that turned into a coffee, dinner and movie date… which has turned into 14 years together, 10 years married. Coffee dates can be good. 😊

Most job interviews aren't in coffee shops. I've had one over the years, and the rest were in an office. First dates are kind of a job interview anyway.

As someone in my early 30s, I feel a lunch date is best. You don't have to be dressed up, but you should look decent. And it's not to expensive for meal to cover. Some people feel like they deserve to be treated like royalty on the first date. I don't know you and I'm not risking having an expensive meal be just a free meal for you. 30 dollars I feel fine paying for a first date. I might do 100 for a third date where I might start trying to lock it down.

I've never been on a blind date, but if I did I would want to do literally anything where don't just sit and talk, cause if I feel pressure to talk, I'm not gonna come up with anything to say, if we're having fun though, I feel like a conversation would flow more natrually

A coffee date makes sense, but I get the other perspective.
At first it seemed a bit egoistical, but at a second thought it made sense, in the end you want to hang with someone who does those things with you together anyway, it feels somewhat more honest, but also wayward and inconsiderate 😅😂

Lol, everyone loves someone who's like "Nah I don't want to do your thing, let's do mine instead".
I like coffee though, can't see what's bad about drinking some coffee and chatting, isn't that the purpose of a couple? to find someone you like spending time together and talking? If you're just bringing someone else along to something you wanted to do that's not really a date in my eyes.
