Coolest frontman ever. They also recorded one of the 3 greatest live albums to have EVER been recorded. This band is the very definition of bad ass.

Thin Lizzy, an Irish band. They were new when I was a senior in HS. Saw them the night I would turn 18 by the end of the show. The club was in downtown Dallas, and you walked past security and PD at the door with your bongs, pipes, hookas…1976. Best teen years ever. Drinking age was 18. Dayum, I’ve had the best music life. ☮️❤️🎼

The guy with the audio issue was Gary Moore. That was great.

They are a guitar lover’s band. Which is why they’re one of my favorites.

Phil the bass player signature bass was that Fender P bass with the mirror pick guard . When he saw a girl he liked in the audience he would reflect the light from his pick guard on to the girl . He would also do the same to his mother when she was in the audience as a way to tell her he loved her . He was "The rocker" oozes with swagger .Love this band and love Phil.

Gary Moore would be chuckling in his grave to hear that he wasn't playing loud enough during his solo. We could see him turn up in the middle of it. He was never renowned for playing quietly lol. I saw Lizzy in Belfast on the night Gary replaced Eric Bell. He had just flown in, had a couple of hours rehearsal and went on stage. Mostly a jam session that night but hey, a great jam session lol. Lizzy were also one of the few bands who would visit Northern Ireland regularly during the political upheavals, bombings and murders. Thanks for that guys...always fantastic to have the boys back in town!

Great observations and reaction.
Standing in a line behind the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver Waiting to see Thin Lizzy, I smoked a fatty with Phil Lynnot. He saw me and my friend huffing away and just walked up, took a few rounds while chatting about the show, and then went in the back door leaving us just laughing our asses off. It's still surreal to think about every time I hear their name. They put on a great show btw, and Phil died waaay too young.

Thin Lizzy's live album 'Live And Dangerous' is a classic. Along with UFO's 'Strangers In the Night' live album- 2 of the greatest Live rock albums you will ever hear. Don't make 'em like they used to! R.I.P. Phil Lynott.

Tin Lizzy was a great band, led by singer/bass player Phil Lynott, who wrote most of their songs.Phil and drummer Brian Downey were in the band from the start until Phil died. They started with just one lead guitarist, Eric Bell, who was great, and keyboard player Eric Wrixon.Bell left in 1973 and was replaced by Gary Moore, but he left in '74 and then they went with two lead guitarists, which was really their signature sound.Try listening to Whiskey In The Jar to see Eric Bell.Scott Gorham was with them from mid '74 and stayed till the end, and they had a few other guys playing the other lead guitar. They had a lot of good songs. You might like The Boys Are Back In Town, the Cowboy Song and Suicide.

Lead singer IS a part of the band, whether he/she plays an external instrument or not. The voice by itself is a very complex and demanding built-in instrument.

Phil lynott's voice is similar in some ways to jimi hendrix but it is uniquely irish!
