Copywriting 101: Can You Become a Copywriter If English Isn’t Your First Language?

You can absolutely become a copywriter as long as you can read and write proficiently in English.

In fact, one of the most successful copywriters we know is from Brazil and didn’t learn English until later in life.

So yes, you can be a successful copywriter if you’re from outside of the United States. Even if you’re from India, Africa, or South America.

Isn't it going to be harder to get english speaking clients if you're not from a english speaking country? Like they see you're not from NA or UK so they instantly go with someone else. Could writing in your native language be the best option?

...or you could just write copy in your native language, for your native market. I don't understand why people try so hard to jam themselves into the oversaturated English scene when copywriting is terra incognita in many countries. I believe that's where the opportunity lies.
