What exactly is a sales email? Can it be a sales letter ? Or thats basically what it is ?

Hi,
when you talk about sales emails, are you alluding to long sales emails that seek to make the sale right on that email? Or are you talking about lift emails(which are generally much shorter) that seek to only get a click that will lead to an actual sales/landing page? Like am I trying trying to make the sale on the email itself or am I trying to get the click only? You talk about emails at about 2:40, btw.

So if you have your fake business -- say, a life coach/mentor -- and you make your landing page and then ONE welcome email, should you then make a couple more emails for a welcome SEQUENCE? Or just ONE welcome email, and then three sales emails for that business?

I tried making my own marketing funnel for a made up client inside the boxing niche but I just kept going to dead ends, I want to make my portfolio (doing it currently) but I want to make sure that whoever reads it can understand it, or should I model my own funnel from using my competitor research? I know it doesn’t matter what I create first but I want to make sure both me and the reader can understand my portfolio and what I can provide to potential clients. Any help would be appreciated as I want to make the perfect portfolio that is concise and easy to understand, I can create the copy but not sure how to structure it, I might make it a personal project as I have no experience but understand copywriting.
