This guy is a piece of work. He talks about "bro science, " but he is one of the bros. There is a lot wrong with what he says. I shared this video with my college exercise physiology class, and even they could tear it apart. For one thing, insulin's main job is to regulate blood glucose. It does that by triggering the transportation of glucose into cells where it is either used immediately for energy (if there is a demand for energy) or stored as glycogen for later use. (If the glycogen fuel tank is already full and there is no immediate need for energy, any extra glucose is stored as fat.) Secondly, when he says it is physiologically impossible to use fat when blood glucose is high is incorrect. We can measure this quite easily with indirect calorimetry and the respiratory exchange ratio (RER). While muscles preferentially like to use glucose over fat, they will use both fuels at the same time until the intensity of exercise is high enough that only carbohydrates are used. I can go on and on here... he needs to review a basic biochemistry and metabolism textbook.

I wake at 5am and get a 30 min HIIT workout in before work, I only eat lunch and dinner. This plan would wreck my intermittent fasting…

I am considered T2 diabetic which i have reversed. I also have a larger glucose release because of Dawn phenomenon in the morning which all diabetics have. How is that affecting fat burning because I already have fuel to burn instead of fat burning.

Doesn't that break the fast, and induces insulin spike ? It's hard to understand this, sounds good, but some issues. Within 30mins eat shake, followed by 30 cardio and next 30? It breaks your fast from sleep ?

Heard a friend taking about this guy. Had a feeling he was just another grifter. I was right

Physiological rules? You mean like losing weight when you consume less calories than you expend? No need to make it some complicated formula. The 30-30-30 rule is basically about eating healthy food and exercising, which, (shocker!) is likely going to work for you unless you don’t eat right for the rest of the day.
