Great recovery! Wouldn’t have been able to tell if you didn’t say anything

Missed or not it's wonderful knowing what you missed and trying to get it way better shows how talented you're. I'm learning a lot from you.

For those of us who've been playing for a minute, yes, we can tell it was a missed note but it was an even more masterful recovery. For all us sax players, please play your favorite David Sanborn song and give him his. And yes, this horn is very close to David's sound

This is why jazz is life.
Homie gets to recover and then he doesn't have to nail his hands to the gorund for punishment for the day. This is why jazz is the way

Great recovery. This has happened before live and I noodled around and came back and hit it twice. My wife was the only one who noticed it was actually supposed to be that way lol

It's life and sometimes these happen for a reason . It's like tripping when you walk and you shuffle to get back on your feet 😎 My philosophy is " It Just Happens" 😅🎶🎵🎷🙏

Ha ha! I am 66 years old with no musical experience (or ability😅) and purchased a cheap Tenor sax because I wanted to make at least *some* of the sounds like the "Greats", so I *know* what a missed note sounds like😂. I thought your 'recovery' was going to be you starting to scat sing or finger snap or some-such😂. Trying to learn the Sax at my age has been very rewarding, and has given me much greater appreciation watching musicians with your skill level playing. BTW - I tried some simple growl notes today and I loved them, thanks👍 Edit: Thinking further about this, kudos for you not 'giving up', and making up for it by trying to hit it out of the park.

This doesn’t match with the video but how do you get your signature sound out of every horn, the alto tenor and Bari all have your voice and it is crazy.

Scott, just wanted you to know, KGU music used your Sir Duke jam in a short recently. Thought it was cool and wanted to share:)

At least you didn’t pull a Michael brecker and just own up to it. No hate on Michael he’s always been humble.

can you make that "missed note" sound on purpose? IDK, the texture of it feels real to me. Kinda like someone that is screaming but is also exhausted.

Also...you recording this for a new album? (=

The high G is a hard one for me. Very sensitive note.
