I like that you are always learning, adjusting, and correcting past findings/theories. This is so imported to maintain credibility on these complex topics, especially when we know so little. So many out there just parroting what every other YouTuber is saying this month. Please keep on digging through the ever evolving science with an eye on both lifespan and healthspan for us, so we can all grow old together.

I put 3/4 teaspoon of Redmond sea salt in a quart of water. I sip on salted water during the day! It works great!

On day four of no sugar. This is by far the best advice and I watched at least a dozen other videos. Thank you

Yes! I'm a Mountain Dew addict and have found that Celtic Sea Salt sprinkled on cucumber slices is a great snack! Sometimes chopped cucumber and tomatoes. Tasty and satisfying. Always seems to perk me up a bit and get me past my mid morning cravings.

Truth! I have been substituting dill pickles for when I want something sweet. Satisfies immensely!

Totally agree. I add Himalayan salt to a spoonful of nut butter and the sweet craving goes away. Fat + salt

Yes my first ah ha moment with this: I was craving some thing sweet, as I was just standing in the kitchen trying to figure out what sweet I could have that wouldn’t derail me for the day, I sliced and let a couple slivers of salted butter melt on my tongue (so good!) - sweet craving gone within a couple of minutes! I left the kitchen satisfied.

Something that might help to stop craving sweets or salty foods is to brush your teeth or at least rinse your mouth with water after eating and/or when you get a craving. Most of the time this will help me with my carb and salt cravings. Also, I stop my need for food after I eat dinner by brushing my teeth as soon as I finish dinner.

salt also helps with calming the body when we are anxious. i recommend drinking water with sea salt, + vitamin b1 for better sleep.

I've recently started to sub a dessert for salted popcorn for pretty much this reason. Due to being so light you get a lot of bulk for a low amount of grams and the salt helps satisfy the sweet craving.

I have always preferred salt to sweet. When I am experiencing “mouth hunger”, I take a nugget of coarse Himalayan salt and roll it around until dissolved. Works every time.

Has anyone here swished a pinch or two of salt in their mouth, to curb sweet cravings? I found that to be the most effective way.

I found pickles to be a great solution for this. Only 20-25 kcal per 100g and it's such a satisfying snack. I always keep a jar in my fridge and often also just make them myself. Saved me so many calories it's insane.

Thanks, really useful information. I had almost figured this out from experience, but this helped me understand much better and probably much quicker than I would have myself
