How Fasting Specifically Burns Visceral Fat- Thomas DeLauer

This is very true. I did *extreme fasting* last year - 5 days a week with absolutely no food, and just water only. And on Saturday and Sunday I ate healthily. I did this for just over 11 weeks, and would have done it for 12, but my aunt passed away in that final week, so I ended up finishing early. My goal was to do it for 12 weeks in total. I did it to lose weight, as I'd gained about 20kgs during lock down here in New Zealand. I lost it quite easily, but struggled to get my weight lower. My body had plateaued, and had adapted to my fast, with it becoming my 'new normal'. I'm currently back fasting again, this time I'm not eating till 5pm each day, and eat only one meal after that time. My struggle is not losing weight - it's keeping it off once I reach my goal. I've got Samoan genetics, so I'm always going to be a big dude. I'm 51 years old, 6ft3 and currently weigh about 122kg - I was 130kg about 3 weeks ago when I started fasting. My goal is to get down to my old rugby playing weight of 100kg - ideally getting down to 95kg. I just wanted to share my experience, take from it what you will. All the best to all of you out there on your respective journeys.

Also, I've been following Thomas DeLauer for years, back at that time he only had a few subscribers and he would reply back to your comments on here. As you all know, he is The Man.

I can honestly say that fasting is the only way I have been getting my gut to shrink at all. I started experimenting 2 years ago to find what clicks for me and I've lost 59 pounds with zero exercise and feel like a whole different person. It really is stupid simple and easy once you realize the body handles the business of running efficiently as long as it is given the proper fuel to be healthy. Cutting out sugar and processed foods was a life saver and I left that dimension for a whole new world with feeling good mentally and physically.

He always said, "never eat carbs with fats' .. if it is a good fat, then you need to absorb the good fat.
Every cell needs to be built with good fats.

I love your content, but Thrive is extremely expensive even at the 25% discount! I’m on day 9 of my day fast! After day 4, I forgot food altogether. Water bottles and Himalayan salt are my new my new norm. I eat olives 🫒 when I can’t take it..then I go on about my life! It get easier!

Thanks Thomas! Sounds like I may need to do something to "shock" my body?? I currently fast for 14 to 16 hours almost effortlessly. I did push to 19 hours today. Although I am still seeing and feeling fat loss. We shall see!

Be safe and God bless!

Thanks! This is what I need. Lost 56lbs over 8 months 2 years ago and still maintaining. Visceral fat is my last frontier. Even 20hrs a day is not stressful. Switching the eating window to end eating by 7pm turned things back on...I drop weight as if I did a full day fast. Gonna try HIIIF, haha.

This is 1000% acurate. I used to have a wicked beer belly about 4 months ago and currently I'm down for pant sizes.
So, it works.
Been doing the Thomas delauer method for 4 months and gave myself a birthday Splurge week within reason and I can honestly say my metabolism is night and day difference from where I was before. And to be honest I was also interested in doing a little body experiment as well... Back on Keto/fasting with laser focus starting today and so far so good.
Sh*t works.

Good video! I followed Dr Berg for months but am getting even more detailed useful information from Thomas. I had no idea about alternating fasting and the benefits of doing it. I was doing 24 hour fasts and just thought I was gunna have to live the test of my life that way. I actually just broke through my plateau by having a couple of refeed weeks.

This was excellent, I will give it a go. Kind of like cycling your times and days to confuse the body ?

Is doing a daily 16/8 with normal calorie consumption going to decrease our results over time as well? You detailed the affects or letting the body adapt but not but not too much info in regards to what influences it. Thank you for bringing this info to light.

I know what I'm saying is anecdotal. But the way I lost belly fat, was my devotion and commitment to intermittent fasting, exercise, and rich diet. Before that, I thought if I did 1 billion sit ups, I would lose belly fat. Boy! I was so wrong and ignorant. Your 1st 2 months you want to give up cause you barely see any results. But stick with it, and then your belly starts to gradually goes away. I know it's different everyone else, but that help me greatly. Great information on this video. Good luck.

I have done all diet throughout my life.. all with decent results.. but for the past 2 years.. now 54.. post menopausal.. hypothyroid.. no matter what.. weight was not coming off. I started dirty keto (dirty cause I am in Canada BC and it freaking expensive) and started a very slow weight lost.. 1 lbs.. 1.5lbs...0..0... 1 .. then I started some intermitent fasting HALLELUA!!! weight is finally coming off.. down 25.4 now.. on my last 10.
It is still not all the big results younger people are posting but I am ok with that and I feel motivated.
It is now a lifestyle.. as for bread.. I am on recipe #8.. it's nearly impossible to make something decent but I will keep in trying 🇨🇦

I IF during the work week. I try to eat my first meal at about 1pm and dinner at 730 or so. I do put butter and coconut oil in my morning coffee. On weekends I will sometimes have breakfast and I may skip lunch and just eat dinner. People would give me crap about my eating but now many are slowly coming around to Keto, even my wife. No more belly fat which I really hated. I have always been fit but always had extra weight in the mid section. No more. I used to eat all the time and the thought of IF seemed impossible until I changed what I eat. I went on a 35 mile backpacking trip and was able to hike 19 miles with a pack in one day. In the White Mountains of NH that is a lot. I am in my 60s.
