I just got a baby albino king snake and it’s been so calm with me. No hissing when handled and no biting. Still getting use to its environment but I genuinely thought my snake would be more afraid/ aggressive

I somehow lucked out getting the most puppy-dog tame boas I've ever seen. He's super inquisitive and always wanting to explore, and is never defensive or aggressive when I open up his enclosure. Ever. I think I've taken a bite from every one of my snakes, except my boa.

me: chilling on my bed with my corn snake, thinking he has already digested and pooped out his meal
my snake: hmmm human is relaxed and unsuspecting, this seems like a good time to ✨surprise poop✨

Loved that comparison between babies and adults crying that was on point 😆
But yeah definitely agree with what you’re saying I usually wait a good 48h, sometimes even more, after feeding my snakes before handling, and when they’re in shed I leave them alone for the whole process to let them do their thing stress free, my boa really doesn’t mind being handled when in shed but even so I prefer putting my snakes’ comfort before my urge to handle them

Totally agree with your approach! Same principles for all ages of snakes, understand and be aware that each one will show signs of stress in a slightly different manner.

I truly must say that I've watched most of the videos you've posted over the last 1-2 years and you alone have provided me with an insane fascination with Boa Constrictors. I've been a snake owner for just under a decade now with my 9 year old corn snake and 2 year old ball python, both happy and healthy but after looking at your website and what you've created I will be purchasing a Boa from you very soon and can't wait to start my journey with that species. Thank you for making videos, not only does it pass time for me at work, it just gives me something to do in boring parts of my day!

I love these kinda psycology based snake videoes! It really helps me to deal with my boa, yellow anakonda and ball pythons A LOT :) Knowing I dont stress them out and are making them comfortable really makes me happy - I want my noodles to be the best they can be :D Thank you for this video!

Great video :-) You hit on what I think is what generates the most questions from newer keepers is from overhandling when they first get their snake. "its been 3 days since I bought it and my ball python wont eat", stuff like that.

My entire house is cold 😅 this is why we have his heating pad abit higher than normal and he loves it. My snake is around 10 years old and loves being in a warm fuzzy blanket when he’s going to shed within that week or few days.

i like that your tubs have windows. So at the least they have some sort of photocycle.. instead of being in darkness 24/7.

My boa (my first and only snake) is like a winning lottery ticket. Bought him from a breeder at 3 months old so I was expecting some defensive behaviour, hissing and biting. Got none of that.
One time he hissed at me, he half-assed it to the point I thought he sneezed. Being a bit paranoid I accepted that I will get bitten but I have to check if he get an infection. Didn't even flinch, didn't hiss again, no reaction. He was in blue, just didn't want to be picked up. Thankfully not to the point of bitting me. Absolute gem. It's a year later and he is yet to hiss at me again.
Bit me while I was feeding him, my own fault, learned from it. Poor Zaar looked more hurt and betrayed than I did.

Hey mate!,

I just bought a childrens python hatchling yesterday and i have an awesome tank for it just a standard small square glass tank. Substrate, hides, fake plants etc. Ive got the heat right for a few days and checked temps constantly. Getting a temp gun tomorrow so i can read surface temps. She is such a sweet girl and got her out of the plastic container shes in and she loved being on my hand she coiled my thumb and wouldnt let go.

Shes a sweetheart! Flicking her tongue in my face and gripping onto my hand. Did this for about 10 mins or so. Then held my hand in the enclosure and let her sus it out and get off my hand in her own time. She very slowly unwound off my hand and went in. She seemed super happy, checked everything out over and over.

She seemed like she wanted to come out though and was almost glass surfacing at times and going round all four sides of the tank etc. She seemed so happy and was up in all the fake plants etc. Found her water bowl and rested her neck in it. Shes so cute! I think i got lucky she seems like the perfect baby. I also picked the biggest and healthiest of the babies and shes the sweetest too! Woo! Im just worried now because shes not come out for 24hrs and i cant seem to find her in the tank. The only place could be shes tucked up in her hide?

According to the paper the breeder gave me she hasnt shed for almost 3 months!!

What the!?

Please help! Im scared shes sick or dying or something lol!

i have 3 ball pythons. i handle my two babies(5 months old) 1-2 hours a day, and my 5 year old about the same, but i take them out when its around 75 out side and i walk them in the sun for hour or two... i dont often hold them during shed unless im showing/ teaching a visitor or friend, and i give them 2 days after eating before touching them!... but i love my snakes! they are head turners for sure! plus the constant hug and kisses ! best pets ever, he is my emotion support pet as well as i have severe social anxiety!

Got a couple fancy burm babies Nov 2023. My 2 toddlers and I have held them every day since we've had them. Snakes come out of the hide immediately when the girls enter the room. Those girls absolutely love their "Smakes" kids are 3 and 4 now and smakes are 4 ft now. Looking for a 2023 hypo green male now to add to the family for future breeding projects.
