ram usage: idle -> with 5 apps -> with 10 firebox tabs:
xfce: 730mb -> 1.16gb -> 2.14gb
kde: 845mb -> 1.47gb -> 2.28 gb
fluxbox: 487mb -> 919mb -> 1.9gb

i use fluxbox not because it is a bit more ram efficient, but because "for me!" it is the closest to my personal workflow in terms of configuration, i really don't need to consider which surface i use
My hardware :
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 32GB Ram
Dualmonitor operation, without problems, with
LG 32UN880P-B 3840 x 2160 (that's the one with the clamp mount)
HP x27q 2560 x 1440
on an old NVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

yes, getting started with fluxbox may seem a bit more difficult at first, there's also not as much bling bling and optical effects as with kde or xfce, but I primarily do image and video editing, so other things are just more important to me.

I've tried the Fluxbox version, it's low on resources but many of the features have been cut because I'm used to using KDE or XFCE which would be difficult.😅

Whats with the lower CPU usage in Xfce in this vid? Will have to run some test on my machines to confirm.

RAM usage is non factor BUT look at the CPU usage (most important factor) on XFCE it is 3 TIMES lower than the rest. WTF?

The MX-edition of fluxbox only uses about 300 MB RAM directly after boot.

If Fluxbox uses less memory than KDE and Xfce, why is it that Xfce is being hailed the the best option to use according the MX Linux site? Whats wrong with Fluxbox?
