I was distro-hopping for quite a while. My entertainment computer is an older celeron and it works really good with MX up to full HD. Get rid of office and other software and you have a friendly and fast machine. It allows everything and timeshift is installed quickly. The most pleasant and simple light-weight distro I found.

Been using Linux since 1995 as my mainstream desktop. I tried just about every distro that came out. Some lasted a day, some lasted a week or a month, but I always tried to go back to a kde distro like Kubuntu. A few months ago, I was having trouble with the latest version of Kubuntu. After many months of trying to troubleshoot a freezing, I gave up and switched to mx-linux on another computer. I fell in love with it. I haven't solved my previous freezing problem but suspect it is a hardware graphic problem. I'll rebuilt that computer when I have time. In the meantime, I'm going to stick with mx-linux.

Thank you for a great overview of mx-linux. It's the best kde version of any distro I have ever tested.

MX Linux is amazing this is a lesson for all distrubtions make it simple but make it work without users intervention having to correct mistakesand this is the best Debian version that is out there.

THIS was the ONLY distro I ever tried- that has its own MANUAL included IN the software for use offline- and I do mean COMPLETE manual-- that covers every single feature and part of the software and its use!!! ALL distros need to take a lesson from this one...

I think Mx is about the BEST.... I'm running STRAIGHT DEBIAN now-- and love it-- but this is great too- has lots of great tools and is VERY fast. but light still!!! THANKS- GREAT REVIEW!

Just started testing this distro and have to say I like it right from the start. Really like that they put all the package managers in one place and every thing I have seen so far are well itemized. I use an old P.C. for testing distros, and this one is running quite well and speedy for the limitations of the hardware.

The ahs version is my favorite Linux distribution but it’s graphics drivers and virtual memory limitations make it difficult to game on, I had to install some Vulkan graphics libraries for Lutris, as well as installing gamemode amongst other things, right now I’m trying to upgrade the Mesa drivers because the current ones struggle with games.

Even with these issues this is the only distribution that holds on to debians stability while also having support for newer hardware, this is a great distribution for beginners and experts alike.

It is a good distro but with one major flaw. It cannot be upgraded easily to a newer version, devs doesn't recommend it and they are forcing users to reinstall whenever new version gets out.
