Yet another awesome vid! Ebeez you inspired me to return to my Linux daily life, yet again. I had my ups and downs switching back and forth by distro hopping or going back to windows, but from now on - thanks to your quality reviews - I'm definitely permanently back to MX! My Lenovo T430 already has it, and my main gaming rig will be turned too in the upcoming days (AHS). I'm so happy that youtube recommended you, because you're just like me: loving games. While I'm a programmer, I do love to game also, ALOT, and I'm so happy that Linux has finally reached the support from steam/proton to make it possible, to natively play on linux without any hassle.

One question to the end: Can I ask, what conky are you using and where could I get it from? It looks amazing, I love the green color, would fit well to my Nvidia theming. Couldn't find that in the MX Conky manager collection, but maybe I missed it out somehow.

Ebeez, I switched to MX linux after watching your videos. I love the fact that MX linux comes with NVIDIA drivers tool right out of the box. NVIDIA drivers/settings was a PITA before I discovered MX. Keep making your videos and thanks for your enthusiasm!

I agree, XFCE is great. I use Debian with XFCE and LXDE and they are just fantastic, they just work.

100% right! I am somewhat new to Linux and looking at MX as an option to Mint. I appreciate your video as it's helping me decide what my next move will be.👍

I've been using AntiX 23.1 as a replacement for Lubuntu on a very low spec laptop and PC and love it! Now I'm preparing to replace Mint on more powerful systems with MX. Very impressed with my live disc boots so far!

I've been getting back into Linux after many years away. I've been tinkering with Garuda, Pop & Fedora. With what I've learned about systemd, I began researching distros that avoid it. Stumbled across MX and have been doing some research. I've already got my flash drive ready and partition space cleared. When my machine next boots, it will be into MX. Thanks for your perspective.

I'm going to give MX a spin on my 970m laptop. I have been running Debian mint for the last month and it has been a really good experience, in my experience it has been the best optimized for X11 and desktop experience with my Nvidia graphics card. I don't get any lag on window dragging as I would on other distributions like Pop and Ubuntu.

MX Linux has been innovative and highly dependable right from the start ten years ago. I've been banging the drum for it since then, when the community was still worrying and wondering what had become of Simply MEPIS. I even supplied graphics and backgrounds to the project over the years (the default 'MX Night' live boot and GrUB screen is my work, as were the placeholder backgrounds on the recent alpha and beta releases). It has a terrific team behind it who are finicky about 'getting it right first time', which they consistently do. There's a reason that it rides high on the Distrowatch page hit chart - it's simply THAT GOOD.

Forgot my pop os password on my old all in one and just switched to MX Linux based on them using xfce as the default. So I figured it was pretty well optimized. I was right. I had no issues setting things up

mx linux is the snappiest i ever tested, even more than mint, the xfce version flies even on old pentium and celeron pc

There's perhaps downsides to MX: 1) It's based on antiX and it comes with anarchist reading material. If you're really anti-political that might be an issue. Personally it's not for me, in fact it aligns fine with my beliefs. 2) SYSV init based and not SystemD based like most distros, but it does come with a stripped down SystemD installed if you want to use snap and for programs that rely on it, but boot works a bit differently which means some autostart daemons might be more difficult to install for a newbie. Easy to use KDE System Settings or the MX Job Scheduler to set up though.

You can just add MX repository into any distro and add their tools that way, through the terminal. So it's good just to know they are there. It's even easier inside debian based distros. Very cool stuff though.. I didn't realize they had all these tools; I see why it's number one on distrowatch.

I prefer Linux Mint or Linux Lite, but this looks slick! Never tried it before, but I don't really like the UI of MX Linux that much, although I do like the fact they provide an XFCE desktop environment, which means its great for older PC's and laptops. I personally use Linux Lite, but was previously using Linux Mint for a year, but I really like both Mint and Lite, although Lite definitely feels faster than Linux Mint Cinnamon. I have tried MATE & XFCE, but I really like the Cinnamon desktop most. Perhaps I will give MX a go in the future, maybe when I get myself another old PC or laptop, I have plans on getting an old laptop soon, will probably run a Linux distro on that, maybe Puppy Linux, its great for older machines as well. Perhaps you should review Puppy Linux.

Like other debian-based distros there is the possibility for driverless printing. An important issue for me.

What's the name of that Conky Manager, and is it in the list of installed Conky's in the list. I like that.
