With 27k kms on it, I've just purchased the V40 T4 CC 2016 with the B4204T19 engine.
Diagnostics had the thermostat code, needed replacing. Other than that, the low friction oil rings have been know to stick in some of the units on the B420T419. I attribute mostly to long oil change intervals instigated by Volvo and short city driving on cold engines. Taking this seriously somewhat. Not to cheap out on engine oil and changing it every 5k miles will go a long way in aiding the engine's longevity.

Hope they will solve the problem with the shutdown of 2g/3g mobile system for the 2018-2019 models. It's mandatory to EU law with sos or e-call from 2018-models. And with shutdown of 2g/3g, this will not work and the V40 is no longer approved to run in traffic.
