We talked about it and did not make this decision lightly. Here’s why we have to make some changes to the project car lineup on Shifting Lanes.

I understand the decision, but if you want to be taken seriously as a "build" channel like Tavarish, you need to do the work yourself. Having the work done by various shops destroys the appeal of channels like this. Ohh, a manual swap was too expensive to have done? Of course it was! The parts (used) are $1200, but the labor is brutal! The point of a PROJECT car is to make it yourself...to create something you cannot HAVE MADE for you.

I just bought a 2005 S60 2.5t for $1000 and making it my project car. It has 160k miles and had a fuel smell in it. After I bought it, all it needed was the fuel sending unit gasket replaced. Cost me $11 and an hour of my time.

Dude y’alls budget is f’ed if you keep outsourcing. Do it yourself, THEN you can call it a project car.

You forgot to mention the "DICE" which is the device that you use to link the the pc with Vida to the car.

By the way did you know that the Volvo V70n, S60n and S80 has a Merely "computer controlled Throttle body" with a Motorola 68000 procesor.

I love the new Volvo... As a V70R owner myself (and friend of Josh Briggs) I really try to watch all of your videos dealing with the Volvo...

They can be tricky cars to play with for sure, but youguys are doing great so far!

I respect the decision. I'm debating on whether or not to either rebuild my 98 V70 XC auto trans or manual swap it but finding a manual trans is proving difficult. Anyways, I'm happy to see the channel grow and have new changes being made. Since the Magicama already has the BC coilovers, my suggestion would be to take out the upgrade sway bars out of the 04 VR and swap them over. I would be interested to see which exhaust will go on the new Magicama, I've been debating between either the EuroSport Tuning sport, or IPD catback systems. Also, I was wondering how different the M66 is from the TF-80SC (6 speed auto in the 2007 VR I have) performance wise. I've heard that comparing the AW56 to the TF-80 is drastically different but I'm curious between the M66 and the 6 speed auto (not the 5 speed auto in the 2004-2005)

Honesty is a rare good. I like that you just told the truth that some things are too expensive at this point, no shame in admitting that..

It doesn't cost 10k to manual swap a R. Maybe if you buy a brand new M66, brand new axles, brand new angle gear ECT. A complete good used manual swap can be found for like 2k. Add 800ish for a new clutch kit and flywheel and a stage 2 Hilton tune is around 500. I'm big into Volvo and own many and owned many. Including a sonic blue 06 V70R M66.

Volvo fun cheap upgrade. Find a not to rusted out 740 turbo and get a quatro valve head from IPD and up the turbo pressure, have fun smoking tires

I know what you mean. I recently bought a '09 BMW 335i with the N54 engine and I had plans to drive that car every day, with some esthetical mods ofcourse. :) But on the same day I bought it, while driving it home from the seller, the connecting rod bearings said bye and the engine basically grenaded itself. Need I say that so did my budget? It now has a new engine and two new turbos in it and I'm selling it now because I'm tired of looking at it, and it also reminds me of all the legal trouble I had to go through to get it fixed. Instead I'm getting a -07 Volvo S80 V8 Executive, for now atleast. :D Volvo has always been close to heart. Up until now I've owned two BMW but I've never been lucky with any of them. Maybe I'll get an older one someday, but as of right now I've had enough.

I probably should have shouted these guys out earlier but Rolling Motors Co. does manual swaps in Volvo's all the time and they turn out fantastic.
