In the wake of inventive minds in the early 20th century, we’ve received so many inventions that ease our life significantly. But these minds were so determined to make something, almost all of them ignored one question in the process. How is this going to affect the environment? Many new inventions might’ve changed human life positively, but when it comes to nature, it was affected badly. Lead gasoline, which received revolutionary results, made people’s life easier, but in the long run, made a generation’s IQ lower because almost everyone in the world was affected by lead poisoning because of lead gasoline. But that’s a story for another day. Today we’ll talk about a company that not only thought about the people but also about nature and its welfare. Today, we’re talking about the Swedish automobile company, Volvo.

I’ve owned over 30 cars from a dozen manufacturers. Oddly enough, despite 3 of them being Volvos, I never got around to learning the history of Volvo until today. Thank you for this video

I've been working at a Volvo dealership here in Louisiana for almost a year now. I absolutely love the S60 & the S90 & the XC90 is my all time favorite luxury suv. I'm currently in the transition process for becoming a Volvo Technician/Mechanic Helper so I can learn & work my way up to a Master Tech. I've been a pipe welder and pipefitter for the past 15 years and now I'm thinking of a career change. I'll get the opportunity of learning how to work on the Hybrids and the Fully ELECTRIC vehicles Volvo makes. Theyve told me by year 2030 Volvo plans to have their entire vehicle lineup going ALL 100% ELECTRIC. This will be a great asset as more EV's will be on the road and not too many mechanics look forward or even desire to work on EV's but I'm welcoming the idea. Peace Blessings and Salute from Louisiana USA

I've only had Volvos - 4 to be exact. You feel kind of loyal to the brand, because of the innovation, safety and caring they give you.

Hello from Finland. My first 4 cars were Saabs because I hadn’t enough money to buy Volvo. 🙃 My first one was Saab Two Stroke -66 ❤. Then I have had only Volvos: 244, 240, 240 GLA(utomatic), 760GLA -88, 960 ll -97 which I kept for 16 years, and now I have S80 ll. The next Volvos, I hope, are S90 and Polestar. My son also has Volvo, of course.

I'm very impressed with how it was Volvo's engineer that invented the 3 point seatbelt and left the patent open for use for free by other manufacturers. With all the other safety features available in cars nowadays the 3 point seatbelt still stands out as the primary safety feature that prevents many motorists being killed or seriously injured in a road accident.

I've been a proud Volvo owner for the last 30 years. Understand their marketing. They build some of the best designs in the auto design world.! They somehow designed cars that both embrace, performance and safety! Kudos to them for this. I've had several 240/260's and the legendary "S60" designs. Absolutely the best in engineering!

I always had Volvo's, never been let down. Recently I changed to Saab Convertible as I always wanted one. From the beginning I was missing my Volvos, but now I am all into my Saab, and will keep it as long as possible.

I own 4 Volvos right now. One 1990, 2 '98s and an 07. All showroom shinny and daily drivers. If you take care of them, they will last forever, literally.

Sadly later years they have lost there mindset to only sell very expensive cars .
And with a Chinese "Geely" = Chinese state as owner the last 10 + years for Volvo Cars . NOT Volvo AB ( that is trucks and everything else ) It is not a good thing sadly .
Best thing shuld be if Volvo cars could get away from chinese ownership .

It's unfortunate that Volvo is now owned by the Chinese automotive company Geely.
Volvo could have retained its standing as a Swedish Automobile Company in they had only done one simple thing.
It shows like crazy in Sweden right? They should have offered AWD on some, it not all of their models.
It worked for Subaru and I guarantee it would have worked here in North America as well.

My Volvo 240, 1991 model…still running. Outlasted every other Volvo we have owned.

230.000 km '96 850 as a daily driver (bought new by my granddad, got it at 180k) :
These cars a just fantastic. Practical, sturdy, easy to maintain and just all in all perfect craftsmanship. But if you compare the eraly 90s cars to the 2000s after the Ford take over like the V70 they did drop in quality. And if you look at the Mördern cars, the idea of having a car that lasts for ever did go away with the availability of software dependant solutions.

The people who made this video have not worked on the newer Volvos. The old engines were bulletproof, except for oil pumps. Oil pressure light or gauge shows no pressure, replace pump and drive on

I have driven a few trucks and cars and I have to say Volvo is the best. Perfect comfort and easy to reach the things we need to drive safely and to have comfort at the same time. The gear shifter isn't that long way from the armrest so it is easy to just relax even with the arm on the gear shifter. and on trucks, the bed is so good and they always try to make more space for the driver so we get even better rest and are fully awake when we are driving long hours every day
