Windows 11 24H2 Brings Back Customization Apps!!

It was big news when Microsoft started blocking customization apps in Windows 11 24H2. However, now that 24H2 is in release preview, the block is gone and we can use customization apps again. So in this video we see how they work.

Totally agree about donating. I know how long it takes to build software. I built a custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A series, back a few years ago, and uploaded it up XDA. It was a lot of work and even though many downloaded it no donations... 😂 That's ok though, I did it because I loved development.

Microsoft has been using Windows Defender to do client side scanning of your documents. Yes you heard that right. I'm an IT Security Consultant and another Professional out of Germany was working with reverse engineering viruses on his Windows 11 machine. During tihs process, even though his work was being done in a sandbox environment, Windows Defender was flagging his files despite them being unaccessable through normal Defender channels. Red flags went up and sure enough the professional found the outboard connection through network analysis where Defender was sending data back to the MOTHER SHIP in Redmond WA. Defender is NOT to be trusted.

Agree about donating to developers, i'm running EP on 5 win-11 machines and have donated twice, because i love EP so much this shouldn't be a problem to show appreciation for the work they put in

OpenShell now work just fine in Windows11 to simply bring back old style start menu, to BROWSE the menu to see what is in the computer, rather than typing for searching something we don't know whether it's exist on certain computer. Save us A LOT OF clicks on mouse and keyboard.

StartAllBack is my personal favorite and it's not that limited IF you want a Windows Vista/7 like Startmenu.
You can customize your Taskbar, including Toolbars, you can customize your Windows Vista/7 like Startmenu more than in other tools, you can change stuff in the explorer window and it's not complicated.
I would argue it's the perfect tool, if you go for an Windows 7 style operating system.

I've used Start 7/8/10/11! They have all been more than worth their very small price for how polished and feature rich they are. I haven't used the stock start menu since windows xp and don't plan to ever again!

Color me relieved, if I couldn't at least use StartAllBack I'm not sure what I'd do. As long as I can dock my taskbar to the top and use their custom start menu, I'm solid.

Stardock software includes Start11, Fences5, and the dock are amazing

Excellent video! I understand 24H2 will not install on unsupported systems without TPM 2.0 even using prior workarounds.

For me, the biggest problem that will arise from Microsoft flagging apps they dislike as "viruses" will be the complete destruction of trust users get from Defender, questionning anytime it's blocking something if it's legit or not, or even outright assuming it's bogus.

I guess every technician in the world will "unexpectedly" get a surge or phonecalls in a few weeks...

Totaly agree. It ir=s your computer, not Mucrosoft's computer. You should be able to install what YOU want on YOUR computer.
