When weather conditions are bad I like to throw something with a smaller profile and low it down.

Number 1 tip is sanko with the crawfish jig with the jawn that has a hook gaurd it's big but you want a one pounder bass anyway

If the conditions are like that and you want a bass then I’d recommend live shiners. Many are against them since it’s live bait and very easy, but would get bob his bass

Ned rig once the water gets to around 45 to 50 degrees. Also might try a drop shot, or a twitching a bubblegum wacky worm. If that doesnt work, drop a nightcrawler, hooked through the end, with no sinker or bobber, in front of one while sight fishing.

Spinners or blinkers (whatever you want to call it) size 2 are perfect for small and medium sized bass.

Jerk bait is good this time of year. Also wacky rig worms

What'd you have him throwing? If you got your bite on a death stalker, a ned rig towards the heavier end of the spectrum with a sukoshi bug or a trd & a trd spinz in the tail is a similar baitfish profile when fished with a simple cast and retrieve. Can let it fall and hop it down too, has a slower fall than a typical ned rig due to the blade. Weighted wacky rig is also really great for beginners.
