Any ideas what would cause this to happen randomly in both hands in someone without hypocalcemia?. I've had this problem for years along with an 'internal tremor' which is like high frequency vibration that goes on all through my body. If this gets worse, the hand thing happens more often, and recently the vibration has got worse and my hands have started doing this again. I have no recent or historical injuries to my upper spine, arms or hands, and recent blood work shows I don't have hypocalcemia.

I did think it could be carpal tunnel injury from years of mouse and keyboard PC gaming, however I do not have the other symptoms of this and I do not have any pain in my arms or hands.

This 'Trousseau's Sign' thing happens when I am using my hands for certain motions like peeling vegetables, holding a pen or using a screwdriver, mixing something in a bowl is guaranteed to set it off. This is what made me think it might be carpal tunnel. It does worry me because it's dangerous as well, it has happened when I have been pouring a kettle or riding my bike before. When it happens I lose the use of the hand for several seconds. I can feel it starting thankfully, it starts by feeling as if the tendons in my wrist are tightening up, then my hand goes into this spasm. There have been occasions where it's happened in both hands at the same time as well.

Any ideas?

Carpopedal spasms can't happen so fast, u should wait 2-3 minutes.

I have this EXACT spasm, but only when rigorously using my right hand for certain tasks that involve a tight grip and a rapid wrist movement, one good example would be mixing cake mixture in a bowl. It happens EVERY time I do this, and sometimes with more simple tasks like peeling vegetables or spreading butter on toast.

It is possible I have carpal tunnel from YEARS of computer use, and high intensity gaming, but I have not read anywhere that carpal tunnel causes this type of hand spasm. It can cause hand spasms, but not this specific one. My recent blood tests didn't seem to show anything amiss, but it is possible, as my GP is useless.

Any ideas?.

Why does hypocalcaemia cause tetany/reduced AP threshold?

How much above the systolic pressure should it be raised so as to elicit the sign
