Many thanks to you and the patient for sharing this edifying video. I had never seen the Chvostek sign before.

I was testing myself the same way and I never had a clue that this test had a name. I was right on the money when I was telling my wife that I am low on calcium. So nice that I have now a video proof to send her! 👍

In 2000, after a Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy (the Chair of Radiology at USA Health, Dr. Stephen Teplick, was the architect of FNAB), I had am emergency thyroidectomy. Surgeons could not find any parathyroid glands, rendering hypoparathyroid and hypothyroid. In 1990, I had open chest surgery for post-media stinal ectopic thyroid tumor and pituitary tumor.

This happened to me also. I also had very bad chest pain. I felt like I was having a heart attack

I have Chvostek Sign always.
Calcium in normal level.
Sometimes I have low ionized calcium and tetany symptomes.

I had a thyroidectomy over a year ago also had trapped cancer in a nodule (did not spread thankfully!) and the hypocalcemia I had felt mainly was in my face i would feel tingling on my cheeks. but I don't have the twitching thankfully. I have calcium supplements to help if it ever dips low.

Which doctor should I visit? I am 23, and I feel the very same symptoms. 😮😮😮
