So sad, but... at least if there's no body, there' still some hope. I read an article in the news the other day about a boy who was just reunited with his family after being kidnapped 73 years ago, and it really blew my mind. 73 years! His name was Luis Albino, if anyone wants to google it. It's so sad, but so heartwarming at the same time. 😭😭

Perfect way to spend my lunch break! I can't seem to get enough of these unexplained disappearances! As an American, I especially enjoy hearing cases from the UK and other countries that I'm usually unfamiliar with.
Great work, as always! xoxoxo

There was a case like that where the woman was found using an assumed name. All the police said was that she was located, alive and well and didn’t not want contact with the family so they were removed from the missing persons file.

I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this story before! So unlike the typical missing person case

My first thought was she was pregnant as well

What an intriguing story! The mention of Scotland got me wondering about Gretna Green. I just checked and England didn't reduce the age of eligibility to marry without parental consent from 21 to 18 until 1987! I wonder if she had another Beau her parents wouldn't have approved of? I'd be interested to know if her family ever checked marriage records there. After she was married and going by her husband's name they could have gone anywhere, Australia, Canada, the US... without her birth name getting flagged. I prefer to think there was a happy ending and she doesn't know her siblings are still looking for her.❤💗

From $37K to $65K that's the minimum range of profit return every month I think it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family.

My two cents: she is probably long dead. I’m sorry, but people vastly underestimate how difficult is to get a new identity and fly under the radar, especially for someone without much life experience like a 16 years old. Her social security number has never been used again, she didn’t have any money, she didn’t leave with her boyfriend… if she really tried to take off, things probably went downhill pretty much immediately, but I’m more inclined to believe that she was murdered the same day she was last seen by her family.

How does the family seemingly know so little about Tom (not even knowing his last name) if the father had introduced him to his daughter. Surely he would have bothered to at least vet him a little bit.

There were still mother and baby homes here in Ireland I don’t know if they had them there. Some woman even though the babies were adopted stayed in them forever .

Imagine being so ashamed you lived with your mom in your early 20ies that you kept it a secret from your fiancé, and now 50 years later everyone knows you as "tom from the docks who lived with his mom"☠️

In my opinion the 2 weeks of missing work is really important, did she not go to her second job either? What about her best friends? The Tom problem is very very odd, since her father not only approved of him but introduced them to each other he must have considered him to be 'good enough' for his daughter. He wouldn't have thought that without knowing a fair bit about him including his living with his mother

If Tom hung around for 2 weeks and participated in searching for her, nobody thought to get his full name? I’m sure there was someone connected to his & her family that knew it. Did anyone speak to his mother & did she file a missing person report when he turned up missing? Did her dad go to whatever place he met Tom to ask for his real name? I know this happened in 1959 but you’d think the police would have spoken to him since he participated in her searches & if the family knew that much, they could have directed LE to him.

I personally think she probably came to harm, because it seems unnecessarily cruel to hide away from your family for so many years, even if there was a good reason for it at the time

Just statistically I’d assume that her bf harmed her after learning about her pregnancy - if she was indeed pregnant.
But there seems to be so many viable theories here. Wishing for closure for her family!

I feel like the assumption that she left of her own accord is very much rooted in the way people thought of missing teenagers at the time, and I'm thinking her family would prefer to believe this scenario over foul play. But the fact she hasn't made contact with anyone she knew for all of these years makes me think she probably was a victim. It's all very sad and I wonder if there would have been answers if the authorities at the time operated on the assumption this was more likely foul play than a voluntary disappearance.

I wish there was more evidence about Tom. And how on earth did police not record his name in an interview with him? 😔

This is so sad, if she is alive and well I hope she is at least able to get a message to her sister to put her mind at ease
