Emily’s stability and core muscles tips are great. I know someone who falls off her horses and it’s such an innocuous thing the horse has down, even broke her back. She has done this twice. Just goes to show that there is more to staying in the saddle.

These are such great tips. I absolutely love the stability exercises Emily. As a casual rider turning 67 years young soon, I need all the help I can get to be safer in the saddle. Would enjoy seeing more exercises to assist with this. Collaborative videos are very nice. 💕

Oh to have a younger body! 4yrs ago when I was going to get on a horse I wanted to try out to purchase, I was shock to discover I could not swing my leg over the cantle without a lot of struggle! I was 69 yrs. old back then. I had not been on a horse in several years. I did buy the horse who I discovered was on the spooky side and also liked to bolt, so we spent our time together doing ground work. One of my major concerns is I don't trust my body strength to stay on if he even thinks about doing something stupid. I will give these exercise a try. Wish me luck.

Sitting on a ball on a barrel or saddle is a great idea. Thanks.

Emily, this is the best clarification of what muscles I should be working on I’ve have come across. Using a barrel is ingenious, wish I had thought of that. I would love to see a more in-depth videos of exercises to strengthen the right muscles for riding - have you done one yet?

This is one of the best videos I have seen about keeping ourselves safer on the rides. Ryan, you are tops, always pointing out the small details that matter the most. Emily, your exercises are exactly what I need to do - thank you both for this valuable video.

I now actually understood how many riders out where get into the saddle just straight up, not checking anything and when have lots of “surprises” during the ride. That’s sad, we can do much better. Thank you for showing the way!

8/12/24 2:30 pdt I love learning from you two. I'm a dedicated patreon member and appreciate all your help. My horse responds nicely to requests to lower his head and flex when under halter but is resistant when asked from his bit (from the ground) . I do the preride check always but hit resistance with the head giving. Lambo gave so nicely.

Absolutely Emily. Need more videos like this. Thank you!!! Also, Ryan, I really appreciate your video. This is one of the best ones for me, explaining the simple, but necessary lessons BEFORE you ride and get into trouble. Wonderful information from both of you. THANK YOU

Great video! My 4 year old horse is currently in training. His saddle arrived a few days ago and I sat in it and couldn't believe the pain in my hips! I'm 58 and parted with my last horse 29 years ago! So these exercises couldn't have come at a better time. I had to stretch out my hips to be able to side sit 😅. Will continue these exercises over the next 4 weeks before I get on my horse for the first time. Ryan's advice is also timely in my situation.

I wish I could retain everything from your videos, but at least I can check the library for refreshers. And thank you to Emily, too-- I will practice those exercises!
