Normally a grill guy, but based just on looks, skillet wins this round (probably needs a taste test though). Nice job both. 👍

Only thing is the butter don’t need to cook with the steak a long time.
Try just salt steak leave to dry brine in fridge for a day. ( steak that size the salt will penetrate )
Then oven 250 until internal temp is 120.
Then add what ever extra seasoning you want. Then sear over gril or cast iron in butter.

120°F is literally rare. Slap some horns back on it and it will go grazing again.
