Beautiful tomatoes Gary. Should've popped one into your mouth and talked about the taste off the cuff. Those are always fun!

So, I'm a novice gardener in zone 4a. My sweet millions grew to 6 feet with prodigious flower production. The plants are healthy. The new crop of fruits are small. So I've been removing flower stems that haven't fruited. These are in 67 liter containers and I suspect that the roots can't support plants this size. On the plus side the smaller fruits ripen quickly and I'm worried about an approaching frost. It could be as early as 2 weeks and as late as 6 weeks. I've also been fertilizing with 5 5 5 miracle grow every week. 3 times so far. Wish me luck!

Hi Gary, love following your videos. I always check your channel first when I have a question about something I'm growing! Question - on the Epsom Salt portion of this video, I notice you show the epsom salt and say it's one tbl per gallon, but did I miss if you do this as a foliar spray or just pouring around the base of the plant as in watering it in? And this should be done at what point in the tomato plants growth cycle? When flowers first form? Is it to encourage flower growth or fruit production or boosting the size of the fruit? I am also in zone 7 in Virginia, so I think following your time line would work well for me. I believe you said Mid August, but then you mentioned "it only needs to be done maybe two times" so I wondered if you can expound on when this is needed. I'm growing tomatoes year round inside in my grow room and want to use epsom, baking soda, egg shell/calcium tea but want to be sure I'm applying at the right time and in the right manner. I'm sorry for so long winded, but I take your education and act upon it. (I'm in the Master Gardener program now locally, but find channels such as yours so helpful on my gardening journey.)

How would you say is the best way to use the fish solution in containers? I'm a little behind due to freezing temps into may here in metro Detroit but my tomatoes are off the hook coming in yet I've had some like say Roma and big cherry that's been sitting on them vines a very long time in bunches. They are perfect just green. So far ive only been able to pick ripened- 6 cherries and two Romas, 3 blk prince. I've had 3 green Romas still sitting on them bottom vines though all while some that grew mid last month in the middle of the plant are still there and then there are the flowers still popping up with all new tomatoes on all bushes! I have baby matoes all across the top of each bush! Tonnnns of cherries in bunches. But yeah none are turning the way I think they should. Something tells me they should be turning a tad better than they have. Or is it due to they're in containers? So far no cracking no odd balls no nothing, every single tomato is perfect, perfect size and so on. 🤔🤗♥️🍅♥️

You are spending a ton of money on products, resulting the world's most expensive tomato plants.

I would suggest you make some experiments to grow a few plants only in home-made compost and some crushed eggshells,
and see if those plants grow well compared to those you keep adding million fertilizers on.

The goal is to grow the best crop WHILE keeping costs to a minimum, hopefully to supermarket-price range

Off to # 5. I see you use Henckels cutlery. My wife would compost me if I took ours out of doors, lol. We're doing the cherry tomatoes in 15 gallon Root Bags (very cheap) to give the raised beds a rest this season. Baking soda is interesting and I'll give it a go this season. Thanks.

Hi Gary! I know this is not related to this video but my pepper plant is infested with leaf miners. I tried an organic oil spray that's for fungicide, miticide and and pets but it seems to not be working and every day I find more and more leaves infected. I have removed many infected leaves but if I remove any more the plant will almost be bare and I'm afraid I might kill it. Any suggestions on what to do? TYIA!

I just bough midnight snack seeds from “Totally Tomatoes” (it was actually quite hard to find!), but I’m so excited for my garden this year! I also got some Pink Chef’s Choice, sugary cherry tomatoes, and yellow patio cherry tomatoes. Thanks for always introducing us to something new!

I can't keep the squirrels from eating my Cherokee Purple tomatoes. :( They eat them even when they're green.
