Thank you man. Finally after many attempts over the years, I got them to grow. I think planting the seeds on the surface of the soil did the trick, before I was planting them deep

I left some pits outside uncovered in a compostable bowl to dry. For a few days. They started to open so I pushed them into a container with soil. That was yesterday. I'll try to keep you updated if anything happens. I'm a first time gardener.

Add some cinnamon powder and it takes only a month be ready to actually plant in soil
This was trued and tested alhamdulillah .I used the wild cherry locally grown they are tiny cherries.but it worked with plum seeds too am sure with other seeds too.
Exactly what you showed in the vid but just sprinkle the cinnamon powder on the tissue and just do about 5 or 6 seeds at a time
Thank you for sharing your methods and results.all the best with all your planting journeys and experiences

Hi....I set a vise grip to slightly smaller than the pit. I place the pit in the grip and crack the entire pit open and grab the seed out. I learned this from another you tube video. It is simple and effective. I really enjoyed your video. : )

really cool, i'm going to have to try this

i wonder if cherry trees have the hard pit so that when birds eat them whole, the pits dissolve by the time the seed passes threough them

Shaking cinnamon on paper towel will prevent the molding spots and will not effect the seeds. Nice sprouts 👍

I used a channel lock vise grip to crack the shells. The longer handles gave better leverage to crack the shells without crushing the seeds. Also, I just recently checked my seeds to see that the paper towel is still damp. They've been in the fridge for 3 weeks, at this point. I found that mold spots had developed all over the towel. Luckily, I did not leave the seeds undisturbed for the full 3 months!! I quickly exchanged the paper towel and returned the seeds to the fridge. So, my suggestion is to check on the seeds/paper periodically as it would be a shame to open the container after 3 months to find it covered in mold. By the by, some of the seeds were already starting to sprout :)

Hello! I have tried this method. 4 germinated rooted seeds in a cup of soil have been in my fridge for a few months. I am scared that if I take them out, they will die because of the change of temperatures. Right now It is winter weather where I am, but I think Its too cold outside compared to the fridge to take them out there. I also think the change from the fridge to the house temp would be a quick change for the seed. Would the temperature change really hurt it?
Also, would it hurt the seed if it’s transferred to sunlight near a window?
I had already transferred 2 of the seeds I had during late November and put them outside in a shade but they did not make it. So I’m trying to get these last 4 I have survive and live to be grow and be healthy

Very helpful video, thank you. 🙏 But will they grow if you’ve left the whole pits in a freezer for months? I am just pulling mine out… 🍒

I have grown some cherry trees from just the pips after eating them I just let the dry and planted them in a small pot, well it was the bottom of a water bottle then watered them and put the top half of the bottle to act like a greenhouse and they started growing after 5 to 7 days they are only about 3 inches tall and they seem to be doing fine just after 3 weeks, I just make sure the soil is wet

When you put them in the cups did you keep them inside? If not what kind of temperature where they exposed to?

Do you need to keep a lid over the seeds or it just in a container with the wet paper Towel ok? Would clear sandwich wrap work as well?
