Smashed, hard to stomach seeing this. It’s an amazing place to vacation and I hope to see it again!

Every day, the videos just seem to get sadder and more tragic…I live in Hendersonville, and have been on the road. I think I escaped major damage, but I’ll see Friday.

Drove my 1st ever bus route… Edneyville to Bat Cave to Chimney Rock, and to the red light in Gerton.

Such a beautiful area

I grew up in East Tennessee. I live in Western NC, now. It's horrible 😢. I've given $ and volunteered. This storm is unprecedented. We don't have massive floods in the mountains. Well, we just did. Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse is already there. That's where I gave $ to and volunteered with. Choppers have been flying from here to Boone and Asheville, delivering supplies. Please give $$ to help. We weren't prepared for this and the dams overflowing and collapsing. We need your prayers, too! I just got power on today but MANY have no power and/or no homes, clothing, possessions, etc. But, we're Americans and Mountain Strong! We WILL bounce back but we need our fellow Americans help at this time.❤

Just a few months ago I stayed at Batcave River cottages, now decimated. They were the first 2 buildings shown in the video. Praise God the owner got rescued and they are safe but now all 3 of their homes are gone. Prayers to all those affected, my heart is with you!

What makes this so devastating as that these places are in valleys. Theres no place for water to go but up the sides of the valleys. Also theres no prior warning on evacuations. Nobody can predict what valley will flood and which one won't.

We love our state but the pride and joy are the coast to the east and our beautiful mountains in the west. This is heartbreaking.

This is a horrible scene of loss and devastation. People have died, lost everything. For the love of everything that is good and decent. KEEP YOUR SNARKY POLITICAL COMMENTS OFF OF OTHER PEOPLES MISERY. SHAME ON YOU

Darned shame. All the best, we’ll all be back to visit your magic town again once you can get back on your feet. You’re not forgotten.

This is the very 1st video where you can see dozens of people and NONE OF THEM HAVE THEIR PHONE IN THEIR HAND ....

Build high and farm low. Weather is unpredictable, but gravity is not. Losing a crop is better than all of your stuff.

Wife and i just got apple cider from the corner store two weeks ago this at the beginning of the video! Very sad! Devastating! I’m from Florida and just posted drone footage but it makes our damage look much less catastrophic! (Even though ours was different with storm surge)
