I used to watch Brian Shaw compete on a TV station called "Euro Sport"; alongside folks like Mariusz Pudzianowski. Reminds me, of how "young" I am already. lol - Gregory

Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I hurt my back for the 3rd time in 2 years. But it's gotten me to look into new ways of working out and so glad I found your channel! I love your enthusiasm and teaching style. Buying my son a small kettlebell so he can learn and be healthy and strong too. So far I've been able to workout at 100% effort by doing the basic exercises you've recommended and it hasn't hurt my back at all - I actually think it's helping my back to recover faster than the previous two times. Also watching your reaction videos which are really helping me see what NOT to do, which is super important. My goal is to get in great shape using mostly kettlebell and body weight exercises, get my back super strong so no more issues and have fun learning along with my son as we watch your videos and put them into practice. Thanks again!!!

You nailed it coach! I had an argument with a guy about the same when he pointed out that my arm always has to be straight and my response was yes if its a light weight. If it gets heavy, it might turn into a arm dominant workout. Keep it safe and right!! Respect for you coach!! ❤❤ i have to send this clip to this guy lol

I’m quite surprised Brian is using this technique. He is one of the best in the world at the kettlebell/sandbag toss, which is a power hinge event throwing the accessory over a high bar using a near traditional kettlebell swing technique. I’d like to say he knows what he’s doing, but I agree, it’s arm dominant and does look right at all

Hi Gregory! What advantages you see for the arm slightly bent (as you do, not t-rex) over a straight arm swing (keeping all the rest correct, no musceling and correct hip hinge)?
Great video (I'm a big fan of your channel!)!

Just curious but I’m guessing he’s training for kettlebell toss over bar/ sand bag toss. In your opinion would swinging a kettle belll your way translate to throwing it over a bar?

My name is Yahel. I am 55 years old man and I weight 177 lbs. I had right shoulder surgery 2 years ago and I only have about 75% mobility with it.

Do you have any advice for me?

Only problem with that last suggestion is that I like water with vinegar 😂, I don’t want to give myself a reason to mess up my form 😂

Protip: For a more Soviet experience you can substitute the water and vinegar for vodka

How much do you weigh? You said the 68kg is almost 100% of your body weight

Brian's biggest mistake is using a kettlebell. He should be doing high-rep 450-550 lb deadlifts to failure.
