Marlin 2.0.x Full Guide - Getting Started (Part 1)

Показать описание
Marlin 2.0.x is the firmware that runs many 3d printers. If you want to update or upgrade your firmware you'll need to know how to edit it. This video will get you started with that process. If you are building a machine from scratch then you'll need to create a new configuration completely from scratch too.

My platformio.ini file looks different than yours and I don't know why

Configuration by C header files! It must be 1980 all over again.

The "AutoBuild" extension really simplifies the process of making sure you don't need to edit the INI file to do a build, etc. But overall, I like the way you present things! Thanks!

Is there any other program other than VSC ?
I had builds on 8 bit ramps using marlin and arduino i simply follow steps and upload successfully....
Now i got the 32bit Skr 2, and i can Not get through the VSC, i choose the correct environment and board then press build..but it fails to build, is there something iam missing ?

I got an ender 5 plus with an 8-bit silent board. Does the envs code work for my printer or do I need to change it?

What type of driver are you putting in the board. I am finding myself buying this GTR 1 . But are the TMC2209 the best. I do like my printer silent!

It seems folk have just copied 'config' files over from other printers and amended / added a setting or two for their own needs..
End result after many copies is a file with nearly 2, 500 lines of mostly useless comments for all sorts of irrelevant features. For my stock Tronxy XY1 with an 8 bit Melzi board - 90% of the sample 'Tronxy config fie' is nonsense. And i haven't even looked at the 'adv' file yet!.

i mean.. it's not really a "Full guide" if right off the bat, you're excluding most of the hardware out there already right?

Just a clarification, 8bit doesn't have to use marlin 1.x versions only, it is compatible with 2.x and no there is very few videos about it (Chris Riley had one)

My platformio.ini file doesn't have any processors listed other than the mega2560. I don't see your board or mine when I search the file.

Anything above Marlin 1.6 on the Melzi board will slow down processing and affect the quality of prints
