Had 2 shi zu's when I lives with my parents, they are the sweetest dogs and still my best friends (they're 14 and 13 years old, both starting to show some health issues and aging)

In about half a year me and my girlfriend are buying an apartment and then we can do some good research on which dog will suit our situation and personality best! :)

Why do they add basenji and shar pei?Both of these dogs are independent, difficult to train, stubborn and bond only one person.Most websites I research won't recommend for these two breeds for first-time dog owners.

I found a little puppy at a truck stop. I really never liked dogs but Aeon (I said I’d never get a dog in a thousand years)
Has proved to be the best friend I’ve ever had.
Training involves doing something once. My only advantage in having him is that I can take him with me everywhere and do.
He’s a mutt but you’d be hard pressed to not call him a Border Collie.

My favorite on this list is the standard poodle, The Papillion, And the golden retriever

We've had a few of the dogs on this list. As a big dog, rough and tumble family it's surprising that the Standard Poodle is our choice from this list, they are phenomenal dogs. We had an image of a "poofy" dog but that isn't true at all, Their intelligence, lack of shedding and ability to be energetic or calm, depending on the situation makes them an ideal dog. The Standard version is also pretty big and will definitely keep away unwanted visitors. Yes, they will protect you if need be. Doberman's are my favorite breed but Standard Poodles are a close second.
