I'm French so I just want to say that the "illegal" dogs in France are not illegal, you just need permission to possess them and a lot of restrictions. You also need to go on a training session to learn how to handle them. But you definitely can buy one if you are motivated enough (in France)

I was attacked by a neighbor’s pit bull in my driveway when I was fifteen after it got out of their yard. It was truly a terrifying experience. It took three adult males to get the dog away from me. I was in the hospital for weeks afterwards. I still have not only physical, but mental scars from the experience. I’m uncomfortable around any dog to this day.

This isn't true. Many of these breeds are said to be "illegal" in Italy. Meanwhile I have seen them walking around or playing in dog areas. They are not that common but I have seen them.

My friend has a pit and he was a fighting dog for about 3 years and my friend adopted him and trained him really good and he is the friendliest and most fun dog you’ll ever see and play with

I have 2 pit mixes and a lad mix. We had a third pit mix but we got him at 7 months old and he was severely abused for those 7 months. When he turned 2 he lost his mind. He became very unpredictable and I had to put him down after he attacked one of the other dogs and one of our cats. Sad all in all. He had potential and was a good dog…..until he snapped

Im from South Africa, and boerboel dogs are definitely not illegal, the only thing that makes them dangerous is their size, as with any big dog they need to be properly socialized, they are lovely dogs

I am an absolute dog fanatic and I can totally understand why they ban these dogs and I agree. Not because they are so aggressive but because idiots buy them because of their image or reputation thinking it's cool then millions of them are put down. It breaks my heart to see. Theses are things they were breed for and that is hard to change. Just animal evolution.

Pitbulls are awesome companions. They are great with children even small breeds that they’re raised with. They have a very low tolerance for isolation and especially abuse. If they are raised in an isolated environment like outdoors with no interaction with people or pets then they may become anxious when confronted and see everyone as a stranger.
