Kings Charles also are known for health issues if you don’t keep on them. Ear infections, bad nails etc. please take care of your dog - your groomer

As a mother of a handsome little 2 year old cavalier, I can 100% attest to this. There's just some precautions you have to take.
1: a LOT of scammers trying to "sell" this breed. Be wary of anyone trying to sell them for less than $1500.
2: A reputable breeder is IMPORTANT. Unless you feel like contributing to unhealthy breeding of this breed, or want a cavalier with horrid health problems, that lead it to die at only a few years of age, make SURE you find a good breeder, ask for paperwork on both parent dogs, as well as testing results, because a good breeder always has that information on hand, and will gladly to give it to you.
3: you may need to travel. Good breeders are spread out, be prepared to travel maybe HOURS to meet your little bundle. I drove 4 hours into Iowa for mine, and it was WORTH IT!
Head my warnings, and you'll have the most incredible best friend you could ask for. ❤

When I worked in dog rescue we had a Newfie in and all of us immediately fell in love with her. When she got adopted to a nice man we all stood at the window and cried. I still think about her all these years later. 😭❤️

I have a Newfoundland. He is wonderful... and I never wanted a dog before him. He protects my children and myself simply by putting his body in front of us. Loving and sweet and rarely barks. I got a Newfi partly because you recommended it. I'm so glad I did.

Will, this is the first time I can recall disagreeing with you! I love CK spaniels too, BUT they are a genetic mess. Until the breed undergoes some outcrossing to reduce the incidence of the *horrible* diseases they're prone to, I could never recommend this breed to my clients. 💕🐶

I would also like you to mention the grooming involved with something like a newfie...the drooling, the shedding, and the constant brushing etc.. the same can be said with a lot of breeds, and the costs involved in owning them.

I met some newfoundlands at work today and my heart nearly exploded!!!! I love how polite they were with their heads popped out the back window in the drive thru! No barking or snapping, they solely happy to see another smile!!!

My first dog is a Blenheim Cavalier. He is the absolute joy of my life. He is great with dogs and cats. I love him more than anything ❤❤❤

After having a standard poodle I find it hard to imagine going back to a dog that sheds. It's just SO big of a difference

I have a king charles spaniel which is very similar in description and looks and she’s the sweetest most gentle dog i’ve ever met. The way she slowly takes the treat out of your hand is actually so bizarre because she’s THAT gentle with it. She is great with humans and children and knows when to stop being playful if someone’s scared. But she’s not great with most dogs at all, it’s either that or they’re very close and love each other. She’s so dumb yet smart at the same time which is hilarious 😂. However, she has an irrational fear of pigeons and seagulls which makes her bark a lot. another thing about these types of dogs is that they are very likely to have separation anxiety from their owners since they’re so affectionate and loyal to them. i’m not sure why i’m saying this rant but i hope it gives you some insight of what these type of dogs are like, obviously not all of them will behave exactly like mine but most of the time they’re very similar ❤ thanks for reading !

I used to have a Newfie lab and he was the sweetest thing in the world, very gentle and never barked. Loved to always cuddle any willing (or unwilling) people and sleep in front of the fire 💕

My first dog is a doberman mix. He was a breeze to train, super friendly with people and doesn't mind other dogs

I grew up with Icelandic sheepdogs witch I can highly recommend! Extremely intelligent, love being around humans and the most loyal dog breed I have ever met. They where literally bread to lay the hole night on their owners chest to keep them warm and guard them in the cold Icelandic mountains❤️

The best one is the one you save from the shelter.

my neighbor has a newfoundland and although from time to time he barks, he's genuinely one of the best dogs I've known

When I was a kid I wanted my first dog. I wanted a small teacup puppy dog. I went to the pet store and locked eyes with a german shepard. Our life flashed before my eyes and the next day I left with her in my hands. 7 years later she died from lymphoma, she meant so much to me and she was my best friend. I will never forget that day and will always love her for coming into my life when I needed her the most. I miss you girly ❤

So happy to hear Newfoundland mentioned on this channel that I love. Mine is amazing but a little confident and stubborn being that I got him as an adult but he will come around with the knowledge I learn!

I can definitely say that Labs are wonderful dogs. My grandmother had a black Lab when I was growing up and she was the sweetest thing ever, and every Lab I've ever met has been very similar. When I was a toddler and my younger sister barely more than an infant, we'd open her mouth and count her teeth. We were mostly out of sight of any adults, though perfectly audible to everyone there, and there wasn't the slightest worry that anything would happen. And they were right - her only reaction was a furiously wagging tail, as she basked in the attention. She died aged 16, when I was 17, and I'll miss her till the day I die.
