I cannot watch this episode without crying.

God... the way she try to warn her past self even tho it won't change anything, just hit me real hard in the heart ;-;

I counted. She had her eyes off her kid for about 6 seconds... She worked so hard. She was kind. She was just picking flowers and she lost the child she lived for. Her coven was to raise these children and just by taking a moment of peace in an area she had probably already been too and thought she knew well she lost... everything. I feel horrible for her

We live by the sea, a few months ago my neighbor went with his children to play at the beach, we were playing together, his child was around 6 years old. We took our eyes from him for one minute and boom, the sea took him. I remember it clear as day, the mother’s scream, the fathers tears, the panic in all of us and most of all: the silence of death. No screaming no crying, he just went underwater. We found the body 2 days later, his mother made them move from the city, looking at the sea still haunts her. This scene made me remember that accident.

Wow, that just sucks. She only took her eyes off the kid one second and then . . . she's gone forever. Man, life is cruel no matter what.

Lula's daughter must have really loved butterflies, 1:09 and Lula looked like such a happy mother raising her. But when her child fell over the edge of a cliff and died, it broke her heart. No wonder she, Spear and Fang are so much alike due to losing their children.

We need more animation like Primal to show that adult American cartoons can be more than just gross-out comedies.

What's interesting to think about is that Lula (the good witch) was probably going to be given another child to replace the child she lost. But once she saw how both Spear and Fang lost their families in a similar way she lost her own child she just couldnt do it. Especially when that butterfly flew past her when she was getting Spear to be sacrificed to the dark spirit.

Holy shit the desperation she showed trying to warn her past self, it's just so fucking heartbreaking and to hear a mother screaming for their lost child is honestly the worst sound out there omfg

1:48 I love the symbolism in this shot. You can see the bright yellow sun being covered up by dark grey clouds, symbolizing Lulas losing her daughter as well as the light of her life.

What makes this one hit so hard, at least for me, is the sheer happiness of the scene. Lula and her daughter are surrounded by flowers on a bright, calm day. The butterflies are flapping, the girl and Lula are having such a good time.
You would never expect a day like this to turn so tragic

For me, this might be the most effective death in the series. And it's not because it happens to a child.

There's a lot of horrible ways for characters to go out in "Primal"; eaten by dinosaurs, beaten to a pulp by ape men, turning into a killer plague zombie, etc. What makes them scary is just how outlandishly gruesome they are.
But falling off a steep cliff? Taking your eyes off your daughter for one minute only to lose them forever? They're so mundane, yet realistic, in comparison that it takes the audience by surprise. It reminds us that even without the prehistoric wildlife, this world is not safe.
And these kinds of accidents can actually happen in real life, which is what makes it arguably even more terrifying and tragic.

So recently I learned that some butterflies will drink blood. So maybe these butterflies purposefully led the girl off the cliff? Considering this is Primal, it ain’t so far fetched

Her cries made me cry, I love this show for it’s raw moments like this. It really humanizes the characters without too much added in

Their coven is based around taking from others. With the loss of her child she realized how painful it can be to have something you love taken from you. Here she decided to start giving back.
