The terrifying part is the possibility of others being infected or even if there is a possible of a cure

I love the detail that when Spear starts literally melting, his hand-bones are all one piece as opposed to the insides of dinos, demonstrating that he has no idea what he looks like internally but has killed enough animals to know instinctually.

Spear's nightmare is so much like ours, dreaming about running away from terrifying things but never escaping. His intelligence shows also, in that he knows whatever sickness that dinosaur was carrying, he and Fang would experience the same thing if they were ever unlucky enough to become bitten. Those panels are repeated in scene of the second chase where the sauropod becomes even more desperate to bite the both of them!

I love the detail that before checking anything else he gets up and checks on Fang

I like how Spear's dream reveals how his mind views what the plague does. The skin and flesh of him and Fang simply melts off compared to the actual gradual decay of the Sauropod. It's not accurate, but that's because his mind doesn't fully understand it, so it only interprets it in what he understands it does mean- Death.

It's an artwork to make organs move like this.

This is the only foe Spear and Fang have ever truly feared!

One of the best screams of horrid terror I’ve heard in a show.

And the thing is, Spear's nightmare is actually _less_ severe than what would really happen if he and Fang were bitten. They wouldn't turn right away. They'd *suffer* slowly until they finally lost their minds, maybe vomiting blood and secreting discharge from their sinuses with terrible thirst and agony just like that poor infected sauropod did before the brain rot officially set in.

I love how the skeletal hands aren't very detailed or accurate since he probably hasn't seen hominid bones before

Edit. Y'all are probably right about him seeing bones given his history. This video is what got me into the show so I didn't really know about that until later. It's still a neat detail though since he's probably only seen hand bones with the cartilage still attached.

How do you make long neck dinosaur THE most terrifying you will ever see

At 0:29 gotta give the animator some respect dude. The detail of Spear's hand melting is 👌👌👌👌👌. And also another detail the way how Spear's thumb nail falls is so accurate and good like bruuhh. The mad talent of the people working on this show.

I think this is my, and several others, greatest fear as well; getting infected by something awful and having the people closest to me suffer the same fate.

ik everyone already made the observation but

i love how spear's knowledge of his own anatomy is super wrong, but his anatomy of Fang's is horrifyingly accurate. just goes to show how many things he's killed and how little he has ever gotten injured

Kinda interesting that, without even knowing that the Sauropod had been bitten by anything, Spear instinctively knew that it was something passed along by a bite. Maybe just by witnessing the Sauropod desperately trying to bite him and Fang; a creature that'd normally eat leaves suddenly ravenous for flesh... Out of all the horrors he's seen, it's definitely the one that made the strongest impact.

This is the only time that Spear is genuinely scared.

Notice how he didn't wake up when his hands or face started to melt but only when Fang got infected. He really cares.

Something cool to me is that I noticed he doesn’t know what the bones in his hands look like.

A detail that is almost more frightening than the Zombie Sauropod is that Spear's fear was not that of dying from a bite from the Sauropod, but that of becoming a Decaying Zombie himself.
